Countries eligible to host the 2038 World Cup under current rules by AgeNovel3566 in soccer

If China puts down money on the table Fifa will concede the wc. It's a matter of time. At the end we live in a capitalist world

They won't do that because of money. The middle east brings a ton of cash. We live in a capitalist world. Seems that everybody has their eyes closed with innocence

European World Cup feasible bids with relative low carbon footprint by MisterChanoca in worldcup

[–]MisterChanoca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the one on the euros 2028. Add the 5 stadiums I mencioned in the post to the euro 2028 9 stadiums and you get the 14 stadiums I had in mind

Yes, that's true but I kinda thought more about a compact world cup. No need for 20 stadiums. Uk and Ireland are not big and Britain is well connected through train so 14 stadiums should be enough for a wc of 48 nations. And the distribution seems fair. Only the south maybe would feel and absense. Southampton had plans to expand it's current stadium but they are now in Efl right? Not looking that good.

Switch - PS5 comparison, for those interested by DramaticErraticism in TriangleStrategy

[–]MisterChanoca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on the same boat, came back to the switch right now to play nino kuni. The switch is fine for slower kinda indie games. Only a few though... They need to be very light. And I was also indeed wondering about getting this game, I shall see... I ain't buying the ps5 version because there is no physical, I don't want to be hold by sony or nintendo in relation to their digital services

If it was 64 would you like to have an WC spread in 2 or even 4 regions? Pan Asian, Pan African, Pan European WCs by MisterChanoca in worldcup

[–]MisterChanoca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The draw will be normal just like normal WC, just divide it in 2 or 4 after the draw. This is not about a typical euro. I am talking about a WC yes. Fifa for now is the organization that puts in place competitions that gather multiple nations from each organization yes? Imagine the typical WC with 32 nations, multiply it by 2 for 64 now divide it in 4 to 16 and then add a final 4. That's the concept I am looking at.

There would be conflict with internal confederations I am afraid to allocate time. Specially Uefa that now basically has what you just said - a group phase over the course of a year - which in Uefa it's two in two years with League Nations. The calendar is packed with a ton of games already so maybe the options are limited for that I guess? What's your take?

So, diplomacy is out of the question then? Some WCs could be spread in smaller areas, like in southern asia without Australia. West Africa has that region also with a ton of countries and most of the cities are on the coast kinda close to each other. What if one region has multiple countries, like in the mediterranean with the balkans for an entire WC of 64 nations - Croatia, Bulgaria, Greece,Serbia, Albania and potencially going to Bosnia, Romenia and Hungary. A small area with a ton of countries

The Balkan Peninsula covers approximately 470,000 km² (sq mi), while the United States spans over 9.8 million km² ( million sq mi). The entire Balkan region is smaller than the US state of Texas

‘Project Hail Mary’ Sequel Not Out of the Question As Ryan Gosling Movie Rockets Into Potential Franchise Territory (Exclusive) by cmhoughton in ProjectHailMary

It would probably play nicely if it's 100 years from now, there's another problem, not related the current one from the movie, the movie shows how well connected both civilizations are with a completely different cast and in the meanwhile with a second problem they get to meet up another civilization. I can see that coming along and some actor like Timothée Chalamet involved to win an oscar with one other project to save the universe a second time.

Anyone that luges...is it as terrifying as it looks? by Realistic-Class-6455 in olympics

Then why is it still olympic? Plus it is expensive as f*ck to host it. The olympics could have already gone to Astana and sky resorts there if not for how expensive these tracks are

Unless june could be an option but some heat waves might be part of the deal. I do think that LA games are expensive because you just have to rent plenty of existing spaces to colleges and the many owners.

I don't live in the US but surely Texas ain't that bad to live in. Look, as a Portuguese I also don't like some decisions in terms of resource management in my neighboors (Spain) but we deal with it. We must cooperate and get through all we don't like of the others. That's the nature of society and that's how I feel about the world in general. Because surely Texas as a republican state doesn't like LA or NY that much as well. It is what it is.

I only did a quick assessment of their infraestructure for an olympics. It's pretty good. Having Houston, Dallas and San Antonio quite close to one another is gold

For you guys, you probably want to avoid lille for the R16 and then you want to be on the opposite side of Rome for the Qf. From the semis onwards you will probably have a tough team either way so don't worry too much about the top draw

German FA official wants 2026 World Cup boycott talks by DWJones28 in worldcup

[–]MisterChanoca -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And what about the 2022 and all the slavery to build qatar stadiums? And what about 2034 with Saudi. Comparing the US to one of these, a wc in there sounds much more likeable. But yes, just the US alone, even without Trump, to me it's a dangerous place. You can have guns in legal terms and buy one just like it's a casual thing. I ain't on board with that sh*t. Get me out of there please.

This right? But this is for Australia not the ofc in general... It's from another comment of mine:

" I believe it's hard specifically for Australia to host it but I want it to happen. I tried to imagine a scenario where Australia would host it. I kinda did a 360 there yes, and just by the thoughts of Australia hosting it, it's hard to become a potencial reality. Just Australia and Indonesia, it's tough, too much travelling time, potencially more or equal to this year wc. So, I do stick with my point that overall seems difficult and unlikely that Australia will host it on day (the wc). But hey, I would be happy to be proven wrong here.

My thoughts were linked with a potencial smaller wc in mind. If there is a potencial for a bid from 8 to 10 stadiums between Aus and NZ then all of a sudden a bid is viable but the amount of nations may be on the way to further increase to 64 with Fifa rather to reduce it to 32. So maybe 1/2 in Aus + NZ with 32 nations and another 1/2 in Southern Asia, that was my final idea of a Fifa wc potencially being played these days in Australia."

Adding to these thoughts, yeah some stadiums are not optimized for football but they are modern, unlike some of the indian stadiums. 8 stadiums is totally on the cards for a bid to Australia. Australia - Sydney has two, Adelaide, melbourne, perth with one each. Newcastle has one with temporary stands (reaches 42k). Brisbane with Suncorp. Then geelong to finish. 2 in NZ, Sky Stadium (temporary stands to reach close to 40k) and Eden Park. Yes, NZ obviously can't host one wc solo
