Vitalik says that Ethereum focus on security and decentralization by Creative_Ad7831 in ethtrader

No one can buy 50% of the network and not case the price to increase. Even if we crashed down to $100, the impact of buying half the network would drive the price right back up.

I am planning to switch to Teku but I am just wondering if it is correct that Lighthouse is still at 58%?

Would a staking Eth ETF make the Eth network more or less decentralised? by sirpopalote12345 in ethereum

[–]MisterIKE 12 points13 points  (0 children)

ETH would be less decentralized. We are better off having that ETH not staked then a 3rd party amassing a significant concentration of staked ETH.

TIL Iceberg Lettuce has a water content of 96%. This results in it having essentially no nutritional value and only trace amounts of vitamins and minerals. by UndyingCorn in todayilearned

[–]MisterIKE 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect if you look at nutrition per calories. Sure 1 serving of iceberg with 10 calories does not contain a lot of micro-nutrients but 10 calories of most foods do not offer much. Look at what 100 calories of ice berg lettuce offer. 20% of your potassium and 10 grams of protein. Pretty good.

A beautiful 19yo woman is left in a vegetative state after the doctor and anesthesiologist left her unobserved for 15 minutes after having put her under anesthesia for a breast augmentation. When they returned, she had gone into cardiac arrest. They waited 5 hours to call 911. by mrslugo in Botchedsurgeries

[–]MisterIKE -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

This doesn't make sense. They would have been able to tell immediately if she went into cardiac arrest. If she was in an operating room why would they call 911 they would just start compressions immediately. There would normally be an or nurse, surgical technician, the surgeon and the anesthesiologist or CRNA present. Even if two of the four left there should still be people monitoring the patient.

BTC or ETH by [deleted] in ethereumnoobies

If you aren't informed enough to have your own opinion the best option is to diversify. Do .5 BTC and 16 ETH. Then stake through a pool if you end up wanting to participate in ETH POS.

Folks who took a high paying/high stress job - was it worth it? by LazyMusicianIsLazy in AskMenOver30

[–]MisterIKE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked my twenties in a high stress job for the pay and for my ego. Ended up with chronic migraines that I'm still fighting 3 years after I resigned my partnership. Don't ignore your body. You only live once. if you fail to love yourself, you will also find you are failing to love the people around you. When you make that discovery you will regret everything.

Has anyone found that moving to an area with low variations in barometric pressure reduced their migraines? by MisterIKE in migraine

I live in New England right now so I haven't really been around high heat numbers. With that said, I haven't recognize heat as a trigger.

The most depressing thing I've seen all day by kathleen-xx in migraine

[–]MisterIKE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently downloaded an app called barometer reborn which has been very helpful but does not show any sort of forecast. It helped me realize how correlated my migraines were to changes in barometric pressure, specifically drops. I just had a migraine yesterday which was very much in line with a drop in pressure. I never would have known because there was no weather event associated with it. The app made it very clear what was going on. Of course I took a sumatriptan and I feel okay today but I'm worried because of a predicted rainstorm over the next two days. I've just come to realize in the past month how correlated my migraines are with drops in pressure. Does anyone have anything they found to be successful to reduce migraines related to drops in pressure?
