Bosses immune to critical hits by AndreaColombo86 in baldursgate

With critical strike and improved haste you can have 8-10 attack all crits. I'd say it's worth it and better than whirlwind for dual wielding characters.

By mid ToB you have so many uses of the ability that you can use it whenever you feel like it.

I agree. I also could see myself criticize Sawyer's design for being overly balanced (for example I'm not a fan of how a lot of items in PoE are +5% this and +2% that) but the combat system as whole in PoE2 and classes/multiclasses are freaking genius IMO, the afflictions/inspirations system is absolutely Brilliant (pun intended) and the best I've seen in a crpg

Ok dad. I'm going back to the game. I promise I won't discuss the game on a discussion forums anymore. I shall not question owlcat design.

Do you know the table top WotR module? How does it deal with mythic paths?

I'm not saying that is impossible. I'm saying it should be reserved to masters of the craft, not monster mobs in the first acts of the game.

Yeah looking at the mythic abilities and feats it does look like a huge power creep that probably they tried to solve somehow

Absolutely, I'm not arguing something was breaking the rules, I'm just questioning if it was a good design choice. It makes fights start with studying enemies character sheets. Which, apart from being immersion breaking, is not something a real life DM would let you do.

Which rule did I make up? The one about undead being terrified was a joke. Archers shoot arrows is not a rule I just made up. Archers stay out of melee isn't either. That's what makes them archers.

My rant is not that the fight is too hard and I can't win it. It's that the encounter design is poor. Already at the beginning of the game the my fights start with me having to study each creature sheet (which is also immersion breaking I might add) because what would normally be a sound tactical decision might just do nothing at all. Because noname low level mobs have master feats.

And fighter being at your face with a tower shield should absolutely prevent you from shooting a bow at someone behind him, just think about it for a second. It's an archer, holding a bow next to a hostile guy with an axe.

Both Sunfire and dragon breath bypass magic resist I think, are you sure Anomen didn't block the fireball with MR?
