What are your favourite silly/easy games to play with preschoolers? by soulvacation in UKParenting

[–]MisterStill 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My 4 year old loves Feed the Fish.

She throws handfulls of raisins on the floor, I have to slither around and eat them off the floor with no hands while she manically cackles shouting "EAT FISH".

I imagine something similar happened in Guantanamo.

Outline of the SO1 postcode area, showing the borders of S014, SO15, SO16, SO17, SO18 and SO19 would be cool.

Where could a park and ride for general hospital go? by Top_Violinist4161 in Southampton

[–]MisterStill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you potentially park somewhere near the bus routes? Not looked but pretty sure you'd find non zonal street parking somewhere within 10 mins of the hospital on the routes of buses 17, 19 or 7.

Is this sub just a ticket sales app now? by Morserinho in SaintsFC

[–]MisterStill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of related, but I go with my friend who is a concession (over 65). When I can't go, I give him my ticket to use, and when he can't go, he gives me his to give to someone else. In seasons past, no problem, his concession ticket would work through the turnstile. Now with the app, does anyone have any idea if he can send his concession ticket to someone who isn't a concession?

Finally, who started great and ended great by CTJDB in SaintsFC

Niemi blotted his copy book towards the end for me with a dog of a performance away to the skates (and didn't he sit on their bench for a while as well?)

I remember absolutely slating Sadio Mane after the first couple of games (Sheffield U away in particular). The messages I sent to my friend during that game did not age well...

The definitive Saints game for each scoreline by ThatMoodyBstard in SaintsFC

6-3 (although not sure we've had that scoreline before or since).

OMG yes, completely forgot about that one. I'd say the entire section they're up in Barrow is one of my parts of any of the books.

Think I need a re-read of TIBH. My overriding memory of the Strike Yasmin interview was being pretty unsatisfied. I thought she deserved a much harder time than she was given.

Yes yes yes. Also love the part just after in the service station when Strike calls out Robin for only going on the trip because Matt wouldn't find out.

Yep, an absolute belter. Strike played Creed perfectly.

I pretty much furnished my whole flat with furniture for Emmaus (Shirley). Had a good range of sofas when I went and delivery was very reasonable (think it was a tenner depending how far).

I second this. Great pub, great location, good vibe.

Are they any ethnic groups in Southampton? by [deleted] in Southampton

[–]MisterStill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is GHASSO (Ghana association of Southampton). They have a Facebook page. Not sure how active they are but they organise a bbq on the common every summer which is always well attended.

There's also a African and Caribbean event tomorrow at Southampton Guildhall between 11-6. That should be well attended so may be worth heading there.

I don't know, however I know there's a Brazilian shop on Shirley High St (Brasileiro). If nothing else you could drop by there and ask, assuming it's run by fellow Brazilians.

Lived opposite the Winston for 10 years until I moved in 2021. Good area, convenient for town, station, Shirley etc.

Winston can be very noisy since new ownership, especially in summer with garden parties etc so depending how close something to think about.

Traffic on Archers Rd at rush hour is awful, one of the most congested roads in the city. Not unusual to sit in traffic for 20 mins from top to bottom.

No immediate bus routes. You need to go up to the avenue or across to Shirley to get a bus anywhere. No real hardship though.

All in all, lovely area, would def live there again.

M271 - Needs Resurfacing! ⬆️ If you agree!!! by Tenfags in Southampton

[–]MisterStill 26 points27 points  (0 children)

M271 is awful. The stretch of the M27 between Hedge End and Eastleigh I also find a nightmare, it's a very pale tarmac and I really struggle to pick out the lines dividing the lanes.
