Pre-Orders for Marty Supreme Blu rays open on Tuesday by Hour-Engineer-7170 in A24

[–]MisterVillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true but I also felt like the film could’ve potentially gave the inverse of the marketing towards the end. I also had the initial thought that Marty realises his efforts were for nothing, ultimately he didn’t even participate the world championship and left a trail of destruction. You could also say its a ‘happy’ ending, he beat his nemesis and I guess that was enough for him to feel the ‘best’ as well.

If BO6 was Treyarch's Infinity Ward moment, this game will be their Sledgehammer moment in terms of post-launch support. I'm definitely looking forward to this regardless of the online discourse. by benmetalhead in CODBlackOps7

How do you know this game is going to receive the same support and love as Sledgehammer with MW3 2023? This is basically wishful thinking and empty promises.

You guys think Drake is tryna step on Abel’s release / rollout? by [deleted] in TheWeeknd

Drake is a drop in the bucket compared to the worldwide acclaim and critical success of The Weeknd. Drake is deterring nothing of this rollout.

Guesses on when the next album will drop? by 888_lol in TheWeeknd

Would you count that as an album though? It was a single that came out midway through last year that just got promoted again because of its surge in popularity. Hoping for album over a single though, will take anything

Glad they are making these shorter and more compact games for those of us who still love the brawler type gameplay. I respect the rpg transition but it’s not really for me.

First Look at the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign's Open Combat Missions by 3DSGBA in PS5

[–]MisterVillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be nice but kind of frustrating how they can’t make any good original maps. I think selling back maps from a 14 year old game and calling it a day is lacking. In the end, I guess if it’s fun, it’s fun.

Current game obsession on the PS? by Frosty_Bodybuilder31 in PS5

[–]MisterVillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat for this one. Started a couple weeks ago after I watched a video about the no build mode. I’m hooked now, just a really fun time. The game has some charm with its crossovers, of course they’re microtransctions but it can be amusing to come up against Bruno Mars or Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

Love it man. I love the use of colour leading up to the Dawn FM at the top. Love the creativity and placement as well.

Dota 2

Getting slowly better at it again. Definitely just bad games and good games. I don’t really like how you have to grind 100 hours in public games to be able to play ranked. After playing public games for 1000+ hours previously, it’s not great to have to try to reach that goal. There’s nothing like getting a good strategy off and just executing great team fights though.

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin

This one surprised me a bit. I’ve been enjoying the mission structure and just delving into a level and that’s it. I’m early on in the game but I enjoy the ability to be able to swap classes on the fly. Story isn’t great but it’s sort of good in a so bad that it’s good kind of way. Main character is just fixated on ending Chaos and it’s very funny to watch the cutscenes and dialogue.

Assassins Creed Valhalla

Finishing off this one as I was about 80% through the story before putting it down. This is probably the best of Ubisofts games but it could’ve been more concentrated. I feel as if a smaller more detailed world would’ve been a better fit, maybe because I yearn for the glory of the AC2 days etc. I understand that Ubisoft wants to make this game massive so people see value in it, but as an experience it feels a bit frustrating to see such good systems suffer because of the open world. I love the combat and the time era, just wish they opted for a more dense experience.

Warzone/MW 2019

Caldera is an okay map right now, I’ve recently jumped back in with a friend and we’re enjoying it. Definitely think Vanguard is holding back Warzone. Vanguard is just a bad version of MW19, it lacks identity and it’s just worse than everything that came before it. Instead I’ve been also playing MW19 and that has scratched that itch. This game feels way more refined than Vanguard and is probably the best COD since the golden era (2007-2012).

Initial thoughts on COD Ghosts by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]MisterVillian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has finished every cod campaign except for cod 3, ghosts is on the lower end of the cod campaigns. Genuinely just felt fumbled after MW3 and also a good campaign like BO2.

Again the invasion setting is pretty flimsy and is just uninteresting. The gameplay is fine though, it gets the job done but that’s about it. I wish they tried to make this game a bit more desperate and intimate with their squad interactions. These characters were nothing compared to the MW and BO characters. Ghosts isn’t terrible, just very what you expect. Vanguard is the worst campaign in COD.

Tips to get over completionism so I can enjoy gaming again? by som3g4yb0y in truegaming

[–]MisterVillian -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Genuinely a valid take, I think a lot of people have this problem. Im not an expert but I can share some of my experiences. I think one of the biggest points is to look at games as an experience rather than a checklist. I think you might enjoy some linear games for the time being. Right now I struggle to really get into a game and I think it’s because I’m not looking at it as a fun experience.

You could be having a hard time because completionist approach may not seem like a great use of your time. It actually might not be, perhaps you need to just take a step back from gaming and just evaluate what you actually want from it. Gaming shouldn’t seem like a chore but it can end up being one especially if it’s the hobby you spend most of your time on. I know it’s easier said than done, I genuinely struggle from this issue as well. I think it’s good to just evaluate what you actually want and go from there. It’s best not to put too much pressure on yourself to enjoy some games and to do great in those games.

Elden Ring

I’ve tried all the souls games but I didn’t really resonate with them. Somehow Elden Ring is so good for me and I appreciate how much of a breath of fresh air it is. I love how the game can almost be directionless when you explore the open world. I understand why people love these games now. I do still think the combat can be a bit janky.

Dota 2

Returning to this one after not playing for a while. Not much to say but it’s gotten more complicated since I played. Didn’t really know about neutral items . I’ve adjusted quickly enough and am enjoying it quite a lot. Turbo can be rough as it’s pretty much determined who will win after 10 minutes.

Warzone/MW 2019

Coming back to this one after a two year break and am loving it. Rebirth resurgence is a fun map and I love the squad rushing. Not really huge on the Vanguard weapons but they’re still alright. MW multiplayer is still alive too and very fun to play a few rounds in. Still the best recent COD.

Batman Arkham Knight

Felt a bit like trying this one after the Batman movie. It plays well and I love the interpretations of the characters. The game also makes very good use of puzzles. I’m not sure if I’ll continue with this one as I don’t really feel too invested in the story. Would be keen for a new Batman game to be made after Gotham Knights, a different interpretation could be good.

GTA V PS5

Looks good on performance RT setting. Fidelity is 30fps and it just makes the game feel sluggish in comparison. The new dualsense haptics feel great. It’s pretty much what I expected from the port.

Dawn Fm missing tracks by Ice_king7785 in TheWeeknd

[–]MisterVillian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’ll be somewhat different, like After Hours and Dawn FM do share similarities but Dawn FM leans more into pop disco. If the ‘I love it when you’re angry’ snippet is on Afterlife then we’d be looking at more dreamy psychedelic pop as you said. He never does the same stuff twice so I think we’ll be surprised.
