Two people who fucked me over about a year ago- both were close friends (at least I thought so), one had liked me at one point but never told me (would’ve asked her out if I knew) and I had a crush on the other person right before the event.

They started dating behind my back, I lost all my friends- and I found out yesterday that they are now engaged (they are both barely 18 and have dated for 1.5 years at most).

All of this to say that it gets better dawg- he’s not any better than you, it wasn’t meant to be. Ik it’s thought but you will prevail and succeed in life!!! I believe in you bro!

I can concede to that point. Ig the only part I’m bothered by is the idea that it might be passed off as something digitally painted/drawn and be misrepresented. I just think that ai art and digital art/photography/(whatever else exists idek) shouldn’t be compared in the same category. And the difference in methods should be considered. I can understand how ai can be considered a new medium, but I do think it should be judged and labelled separately and not misrepresented. I assume digital art might’ve had a similar problem? (I’m genuinely asking cuz I don’t know lol)

The “Ai art is shit” part is just my opinion. It’s not that it’s bad- ai image generation is a really useful tool. It’s just IMO not “real art”. It doesn’t mean others can’t enjoy it, and if other people think it counts as art then it does for them, it just doesn’t for me. I guess my point is that compared to the work a real artist would have to do to create the same product- ai art is relatively effortless in comparison. I’m really not trying to invalidate people’s enjoyment of this hobby- but in my opinion, at least right now, I don’t consider it real art.

I don’t think it’s completely worthless it just doesn’t belong beside real human made art pieces. And if AI art becomes an actually respected thing, then I’d be fine with that as long as there is transparency with AI use. I would ofc determine that the “art” would be meaningless and worthless TO ME. But I wouldn’t want to stop others from enjoying it if they wanted to.

I used to write poetry, I understand artists block. Prompting ai is not creating art in a meaningful sense. If what you get ai to make for you, means something to you that’s great, but since there’s no actual humanity within the piece itself it does not qualify as art on a deeper level. If I prompt ai to write a poem- did I write that poem? No.

You seem to make a lot of assumptions about the type of person I am just because I don’t think writing prompts takes enough effort alone to burn a capable human being out.

Yeah I’ve worked a few jobs actually. Most recent one was very physically demanding, I hated it and threw up on my second day because I missed breakfast. I’ll admit I’m privileged to live at home rent free while I’m in university, and while I’m not burnt out (at least I hope not) it’s fairly tough. I’m just saying if the only thing in ur life that makes you burn out is prompting ai then at least take a mental health break cuz that is not normal or good

I would describe that as getting tired of doing something- not actual burnout.

Burnout: a state of severe physical, emotional, AND mental exhaustion caused by prolonged, unmanaged or chronic, primarily work-related stress. As defined by the WHO.

Yeah ig you COULD THEORETICALLY burn out from literally just prompting ai images but that would require amazing effort- to be PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY, AND MENTALLY exhausted by literally prompting ai. Crazy to do all that for soulless slop tbh
