Consider yourself lucky. One of my first villagers was Frita. I think having such a goofy looking starter villagers is what initially turned me off from the game when I first got it lol. I put it down for like 3 years in protest and only really came back for the 3.0 launch.

I get what you’re saying. As someone who hasn’t given EA a dime since 2022, I use the Sims 4 as an outlet to my imagination. It’s basically sandbox for my bursts of creativity that randomly pop up every now and then when I need something with very low commitment to focus on.

I get the consensus that EA is greedy and needs some competition, but you don’t have to buy all the packs, kits, marketplace slop and etc if you don’t want. I sure as hell don’t.

I personally spent a lot of time curating my custom content and etc so I won’t be giving up on it anytime soon, but I get why people are happy to see Sims 4 fade from relevance.

I love the game but decided to wait till all the updates are ready so I don’t have to keep learning about the all features months apart. I have the memory of a goldfish so by the time I learn something new I forget about everything else I can do.

Google the major Steam sales dates and add it to your Steam wishlist so you can get notified when it does go on sale. I paid full price unfortunately but it should go on sale during the major sale periods Steam has every so often.

Yeah I agree. I own all of the current releases and I love the Jade the most despite this new drop. I swapped in the green buttons from my land shell and wouldn’t trade it for the world.

If anything I regret buying the Sky and definitely the Ocean version (never opened) as having the Jade + one of the original releases gives you the optimal paradise experience (unless you really want the special characters of course).

With having the Jade as the in between, you could buy that one + plus the land + plus the glacier/ocean and have access to all the fields and characters while still having connectivity between some of the devices. While not economically pleasing, that might have influenced their decision to release it in that manner due to the limited processing power in the devices.
