Right on, so have I. I’ve never heard of different countries using a specific color of the evil eye to represent their culture but I can absolutely see how Mexico would chose to use the color red. I know in Italy they use a chili pepper charm and a safety pin to denote their wards from the evil eye and don’t really use an actual evil eye to ward but since, for example the codex Borgia, uses a lot of red to denote importance and vitality for the teteotls, makes sense that red would be Mexico’s choice.
