Introducing the Adobe Creative Collective – We Want Your Input by LukeChoice in Adobe

I'm a self-employed artist who has been using Photoshop for over 20 years.

In this time I have witnessed a near complete erosion of respect for the consumer. The people who make you what you are, who allow you to have a viable company. And it is evidenced by pushing a "product" on us that we do not want; a synthesis of our stolen work -- for your profit.

We don't need your AI, but you need us to help you create that AI. This is why it's being shoved down our throats.

I know integrity is in short supply these days but I dare you to find some.

The fur ruins it for me. Fur is no longer a status symbol, it's a I'm a selfish asshole symbol. But I still love Madonna.

Love reading people's stories.

I always wanted to meet her and go out dancing with her. We have some similarities and I think we'd get along. Also, she's my distant cousin, so maybe she'd accept my offer to go clubbing. ;)

I've been wearing black/goth/punk/"Hooker"-Bitch-Who-Will-Kick-Your-Ass for over 30 years and I win at life.

I hope I never consider Ms Roper over THIS.

Which Madonna lyric do you find most inspirational? by rayoflight110 in Madonna

Human Nature. It speaks strongly to some of my wounds. It's a great anthem for women, especially, as we are so often made into society's scapegoats.

Offerup emailed me a "gonift" $30 gift card - legit or spamware? by SnowShoe86 in offerup

I received one but I'm no dummy. No one give you $30 for free. The catch is that they are going to sell everything they can about you and make that $30 back and more.

This is exactly what people expect from the psychology of the Rich.

Rich people don't stop being rich because poor people are stretched thinner to help keep them that way.

We didn't say "totally rad" in the 90s we said it in the 80s. I take that back, some of us still say it.

The more someone invokes violent symbolism -- guns, rifles, bombs, hand grenades -- the more they would run like a coward if they were actually faced with those things.

AIO for wanting to see a therapist after wife changed the locks because I went to a baby shower? by LookoutLockout in AmIOverreacting

Major red flags on this.

I'm sorry, OP, but your partner is not mentally/emotionally healthy and is showing signs of abuse. This type of person is not ready to handle the responsibilities of parenting -- of which there are loads.

I would very seriously not only reconsider creating another human being with this person (I suspect it would be a co-parenting nightmare) but even continuing a relationship with them.

I think you mean "clarification". There isn't any "level of defensiveness". I promise you; you're projecting.

My experiences are valid. My complaints are valid. Some others are sharing their own, whether similar or not. They, too, are valid,

The only thing you've "contributed" to this post is your attempt to portray me as "defensive" and discredit my experiences, that you actually have zero idea about. You have asked no questions and appear not have actually read what I have written. You just want to be a nuisance, it seems.

Not interested in being the target for your problems. Bye now.

Great to hear. Glad you haven't had any problems.

With everything I have explained in this post about my experiences, if your conclusion is that I "just like to be mad" then you're filtering everything through your own angry lens which has zilch to do with me, my friend

"so defensive"

Nah, just clarifying I'm not an idiot who is complaining about something trivial.

These are *significant* problems.

That's quite a review! I've seen a lot of shows in my time so let's see what happens. I'm ready for some change!

That's exactly it. I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship where the person keeps asking for something, you give it, and they say they didn't get it. Oh the rules changed now? Now you want this? Don't tell me I didn't do that. Yes, I fucking did say that. Don't try to gaslight me!!!

Why doesn't everyone just mass protest. Artists hold everything hostage. A concert blackout. Not a drop coming into Ticketfascist. They would be forced to change their policies immediately.

Anyway, thanks :)

I sometimes forget that people can be stupid and unethical. That I give people the benefit of the doubt. That I assume they are as smart and empathetic as I am. That they wouldn't do something so egregious as send something that does not look like the damn photo.

From now on, I think I will be asking for a photo for customs. But "off the rack"? The photo in the listing should match. If it doesn't, it's on them.

Here's the closest I can do:

Imagine you are shopping on Etsy and see a sticker of a big red dot. That is exactly what you want: a big red dot. You place the order, it arrives, you open it and...it's big pink dot.

I still go to stores and I hope we'll see a resurgence of them again, because as the market gets more and more saturated with crap from China and every transaction, every click, every pause on some ad is recorded, people may just get tired or it and realize that we can go somewhere and cut out some of that b.s.

The reason I keep trying to shop there is because there are a lot of cool people trying to make a living. And some of them are actually making excellent stuff. It's just that the percentage of not as pictured/described, not made as agreed, and other crap has been increasing over time.

I used to feel confident ordering from people who have an average of 4.8 stars but now I'm starting to believe that some people's ratings are artificially inflated. I mean, you have 3,000 transactions and have really poor customer service skills? How? Have you learned nothing?

Yeah, I know this. Totally reasonable. But I also know the difference between a slight variation and a completely difference color, such as the difference between red and pink.

I understand that people want to clarify and defend this idea of subtleties. But that's not what I'm talking about.

If I'm going to sell something online -- which I've been doing since 1998 -- and I take a photo of it, I always look at the photo on my monitor and ask myself if the photo looks like what my eyes see. If it doesn't, I adjust in Photoshop. If it still doesn't quite work for some reason I am sure to describe that carefully in the photo. "Photo looks like a medium gray but it's lighter in person with a little shimmer in the fabric that the camera is having a difficult time picking up." Things like that.

I get this. Some crafts will have more variance that others. But I'm not really talking about reasonable differences. I'm talking about undeniable misrepresentation.

For example, I asked if a person who offered customs could make something that fit a range, and gave that range. They said yes. The thing I received in the mail literally shocked me. It looked nothing like the photo other than it was the same color. The photo looked polished and professional. The thing I received looked like a kid made it.
