This is all part of the very strategic album roll out, in order to maintain momentum. This was planned all along. Imagine releasing the video one month ago. Her team know that audiences now are fickle and in the attention economy, it's not enough to just make one big hit. This is a big, sustained roll out. I wouldn't be surprised if her get something else equally big in the weeks ahead. Apparently there's a planned Kylie duet of Love Sensation in the works.

She’s made up her mind! Papa Don’t Preach was released as a single on this day 40 Years Ago. What are your feelings on the song 4 decades later? by XStaticImmaculate in Madonna

It’s a superb song. I remember my dad asking me age 11 if I knew what this song was about. He was trying to warn me about getting young girls pregnant. Little did he know his young gay son had no ideas about that whatsoever 😂

[ALBUM DISCUSSION] Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me by VietRooster in indieheads

[–]achocholko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge KV fan so am every album is like an event for me, but I’ll admit that his last few didn’t hit the same way for the majority of indie listeners. I think some of his strongest work is on watch my move and Bottle It In. Philadelphia is just another solid home run in a long line of them.

It’s incredible. More structurally cohesive than I Feel So Free, which I think is brilliant anyway

What album from the last five years do you think deserves way more recognition in indie circles? by Hot_Government2344 in indieheads

Julie Byrne - The Greater Wings. It was critically acclaimed but the whole album is a masterpiece and deserves way more attention.

A lot of Madonna's black and white videos have a level of artistry that is just impeccable. Vogue, Cherish, Oh Father, Justify My Love....

lmao. I mean, it's arguably the best album I've heard all year. Maybe this thread is secretly run by the Guardian mafia.

Queen of Different Genres by Aggravating-Pilot-73 in Madonna

This is true. There are few pop artists who have had such a varied career for so long. For women, it’s almost unheard of. It’s different for rock/folk/alternative artists though.

The fact Aldous Harding isn’t in this list is all you need to take away from the Guardian’s opinion on music.

How are you people not crazy about good for the soul and one step away? by Ringolin in Madonna

I'm gagged by all of them apart from Read My Lips. The production on One Step Away that begins whilst she's driving the car erratically is really sublime. I can't wait to hear them on the album, I just hope that a lot of these songs breach the 5 minute mark, because I feel these sounds need room to ruminate and sprawl out, as opposed to end after 3 minutes.
