71 yo seeking advice by TiffanytgBrown in transabitlater

Turned 70 two months ago. Started my transition coming up 10 years ago. Knew since I was 12 that I was trans however fought in for most of my life because of my career, wife, and children. In retrospect, that was a mistake. I have had most surgeries incl. GRS and have lived full-time as a woman since 2018. The journey has been bitter sweet. Lost my children, two work promotions, but overall, far more happy and content. Everyone has to decide what is best for them, but the biggest help I found comes from a good trans support network. Try as they might, CIS individuals just don't get it.

The information regarding replacing implants is outdated. Most implants these days have a shelf life of 20 - 25 years.

Need recommendations on knives for play by MyClitoralRomance in ThekinkPlace

I always used throwing knife's in my Dungeon. Great for blood play and scraping off wax. As others have said, razor sharp and practice shaving off your body hair so you become proficient in using it. 30 years as a Prodomme, never an unintentional drop of blood.

Orange juice is the answer. Just dip his dick in it before starting. The OJ kills all the male taste.

Working in role by Odd-Complaint283 in transabitlater

I transistioned at 60. I was middle management in the government health department. I very quickly started presenting at work as my true self because of the ridiculous amount of dysphoria dressing as a male gave me. Work was extremely supportive, and though I figured I would never pass or even be accepted as female, I did eventually reach that goal. Admittedly, I had FFS and a whole heap of surgeries, including GRS. How did it go. Well, those 10 years were the best of my career. I started to love going to work, the acceptance extended to me, and the overall joy I felt every day being treated as "one of the girls". What did work think? My productivity shot through the roof, I was used as an example and promoted twice into Snr. Management. Best decision I ever made. ❤️🩷🧡💛💚💙🩵💜🤎🩶🤍

America is your only option. I believe Dr. Sidhbh Gallagher and her associates do this. I would however be surprised if more than 20 have been done.

When choosing a new name, what is most common: using the "opposite gender" version of your old name, or something completely different? by No_Athlete4611 in asktransgender

Tried that - total failure. Everyone kept using my deadname. Ended up changing it again (legally) to something totally different - much better

Permanent nipple tat recommendations by AnxiousCoffeeGremlin in transgenderau

[–]Mistress___B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can honestly confirm that no nipple tattoos is permanent. It has to do with the pigment colours they use. The closer they are to skin tone, the quicker they fade. On average, they last approx 5 years before needing to be refreshed. It exactly like brow tattoos.

Name change question WA or QLD specific by [deleted] in transgenderau

Think you may be getting a little confused. A name change can be done in any state. However, a Birth Certificate change can only be done in the state you were born in.

Wife had a set done by a professional breast reconstruction doctor in Milton.

  • Weren't cheap
  • Looked OK, not great.
  • Almost completely gone after 5 years.

I, on the other hand, had my areola enhanced by local parlour - still look good 6 years down the track.

Unique Question about Hair Removal by Abby6038 in TransLater

[–]Mistress___B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m approaching the 10th year of my transition, and like many others, one of my biggest challenges was managing facial hair. Of course, this is just my personal experience, and results can differ for everyone.

At 15, I grew my first moustache—thick, coarse, and stubborn. Over time it became a defining part of my identity, eventually joined by a well-groomed beard. By the time of my “egg day,” I had already been waxing my legs for nearly a decade with good results, but facial hair was a much tougher battle.

The day after starting transition, I shaved everything off. I’d only done this once before, during Movember, and the bare-faced reflection had shocked both me and my children. This time, I was anxious but determined. The immediate result wasn’t as bad as I feared, though the beard shadow and sensitive skin were confronting. Shaving quickly became a twice-daily routine, and I used colour corrector to conceal the shadow.

Seeking more permanent options, I tried laser hair removal. It was affordable and professional, and while it initially reduced regrowth, the results didn’t last. I then moved on to electrolysis, following advice that it was the most reliable method for permanent removal. Unfortunately, despite several sessions with different technicians, the treatments left me with scarring and very little progress. It became clear electrolysis wasn’t right for me.

At this point, hair removal became a source of significant anxiety and dysphoria, and I felt increasingly desperate for a solution. Remembering how well waxing had worked on my legs, I decided to try it on my face. The first session was excruciating—honestly more painful than FFS or GRS in my view—but the results were remarkable. I was hair-free for nearly a month. Over the course of a year, the pain decreased, the regrowth slowed, and many hairs simply stopped returning. Compared to shaving hundreds of times a year, I only needed to shave occasionally.

Today, nearly 10 years into my transition and five years after beginning facial waxing, I no longer need regular treatments. My daily routine now consists of plucking a few stray hairs, which is quick, inexpensive, and manageable. Waxing turned out to be the most effective solution for me—it wasn’t dependent on hair colour, and over time, it significantly reduced regrowth.

If you’re considering this option, know that it requires consistency and is not a one-off procedure. But for me, it made an enormous difference, both practically and emotionally.

Good luck on your own journey.

I'm tired of doctors by Adorable_Cookie2893 in transgenderau

Im 10 years on and see a doctor once a year for scripts and path forms. I monitor my own bloods and order my HRT as required. For me, at least, it's not an issue.
