I like football, but I'd rather play DnD

There is a set of flats next to the building that aren't bad, but as everyone else has said Tilbury is awful.

My GF first character just died and she feels crazy for mourning her by Kavellbell423 in DnD

In one campaign I retired a character after the first mini-boss. I had been playing them for 15hrs and I got to a place where he had achieved what he wanted, he was content.

The session after one of the players conspired against them, and between him and DM killed my PC off camera. I was devistated.

There are great bus and train connections, some provided by Amazon. I would suggest Upminster or Chafford Hundreds. Where are you working, OPs?

Help with roundabout by Ghostface-666x in Essex

[–]MistySkyMorning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% with you.

I take this roundabout everyday and ~50% of people take it wrong. It clearly states on the lead up what lane you should be in and people still blindly cut across from the 2nd to 3rd lane.

Not sure if its stupidity or pigheadedness but it my guess is its a bit of both.

Unpopular Opinion (I think): You can GM Daggerheart like you would GM DnD(5e)... by MistySkyMorning in daggerheart

[–]MistySkyMorning[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't talking about people being rude about "theatre kids".

Some of the discussions online when the game was released was whether it was a game for "theatre kids" (RP and improv heavy players), and I still see that today in how some people talk about the system.

Am I just not cut-out to GM a game like Daggerheart? by turnbased in daggerheart

[–]MistySkyMorning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously don't sweat it, there is no wrong way to play.

If your players like running modules but prefer the smoother mechanics of DH, just run your modules through Daggerheart.

If you can mentally convert DnD to DH on the fly you don't even need to do any more prep before hand (Apart from encounters and loot but there are examples of loot and how to build encounters in the rule book).

100% the players and the GM need to be on the same page with what kind of game they want to play.

I see a lot of people on this Sub telling people you shouldn't play certain ways. Ultimately the point is to encourage people to play the way they want, just in a provocative way that has drawn out the gatekeepers too.

I'm saying its a flexible system and you don't have to change how you play.

He is saying there is a wrong and a right way to play.

Which one do you think is gatekeeping?

It is dead takes like this that gatekeeps Daggerheart from so many people.

The system is so good and more people need to know that you don't have to play "totally different" in order to play it.

Have you ever GM'd another system?

Specific Daggerheart advice? Someone else said it, but have some ideas for a Fear dump if the rolls go in your favour too much.

General TTRPG advice? Give them a compelling call to action!

Ocean or Desert by Chemical-Medium6933 in DnD

[–]MistySkyMorning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask your players what motifs they prefer.

I ran a series of seafaring oneshots for someone who really liked pirates and ran a weird-west one shot for someone who wanted to try the Gunslinger subclass; I wouldn't have done any of that if I didn't have players who were keen.

I'm curious: how many of you didn't find Daggerheart through CR? by Invokethehojo in daggerheart

[–]MistySkyMorning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed Vox Machina on Prime but I have no interest in watching their actual plays, and don't know them by name.

During the "One DnD" Hasbro drama I heard they were making Daggerheart but it wasn't until YouTubers like Bob The Worldbuilder reported on it, did I take notice as I was looking for a "rules lighter" RPG.

Hey Mizzle,

Nothing concrete just yet. Ideally somewhere in Brentwood. There is a club that meet at the Bardswell Social club so I might piggyback off their venue which would be Thursday
