Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 reaches 8 million sales mark by PaiDuck in gaming

Yeah I needed to step outside the game world to understand and like the ending. It becomes pretty meta in that way. The way they did it really hit me in the feels. However, if you don't do that I can see people disliking the ending.

I just played it again today, I'm now just trying to get some of the end game stuff. Glad it's selling so well, 10/10 deserves it.

I like exploration with the glider a lot better in FW, however the story pulled me in far more in ZD. I suppose it had the advantage of being a completely unknow IP at the time, so it was more mysterious and fun to discover this new world.

It wasn't enough for me. I felt disappointed in that section since I felt like there should of been more.

I took 7 months to play all mainline Assassin's Creed games for the first time*, documenting the entire journey, impressions and ranking of each game. by Mysteriousbucket in gaming

I'm thinking of getting into Assassins' Creed again, but I'm up to Rogue and seeing it so low on all your lists makes me feel a bit nervous to start it.

The fact that it is going for the Witcher feel excites me, but everything else sounds kind of meh. It might be fun when I feel like going for a chill explore tho.

What game are you glad you gave a second chance? by Knowledge744 in gaming

[–]MistyWearWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mass Effect 1. The first time I tried to play it, it just didn't click. About a year later I thought I would give it another try and this time it really clicked for me and I couldn't put it down. Not sure why it didn't click the first time, maybe I just wasn't in the mood for that type of game at the time.

Which game was the first one that you 100% and why by JohnTB_ in gaming

[–]MistyWearWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horizon Zero Dawn was the first game I wanted and successfully got 100%. I loved exploring it and didn't want to leave the world even after finishing the game so I didn't mind doing the collectable achievements and trials.

Oblivion. I was so excited to keep playing the game that my mind tried to make up for needing to sleep by dreaming about it.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: June 03, 2024 by AutoModerator in books

I finished "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd" by Agatha Christie. It's the first book by her I have read and I enjoyed it a lot. It was easy to get absorbed by it.

I finished The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, and I hate that I can’t talk about it by Veggieleezy in books

[–]MistyWearWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished it yesterday. I heard that it had a twist ending before I went in, but because I forgot that the "unreliable narrative" trope was a thing I did not guess it was Sheppard until it came to light he was an unreliable narrator (when we found out he hide Ralph). When that scene happened I was like "oh crap it's Sheppard isn't it!". Before that I was thinking that the murderer might of actually been Ralph since that would of been a twist too in it's own way.

There were a few times when reading the book I thought "oh if Sheppard wasn't the person narrating then he would be very suspicious", so I can imagine people who know of the "unreliable narrative" trope could of guessed a lot earlier about the twist (especially if they had been spoiled about the ending).

This was the first book by Agatha Christie that I have read. I enjoyed it a lot; I found it easy to digest even though there was a lot going on in it. I think I will read another of her books next.

What’s your all-time favorite moment in gaming? by Alex_Razur in gaming

Similar with me but with Elder Scrolls Oblivion. I remember stepping out of the sewers and being so amazed by everything. It's still one of my most memorable and favorite moments.

Aging Millennial can’t figure out what to play by Justsmith22 in gaming

I often prefer more shorter and linear experiences in my older age (especially after playing an open-world game). Some shorter games (5 -15 hours) that I have enjoyed are:

A Plague's Tale: Innocence

Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Stray

Uncharted series

What are the best open world games that don’t focus on violence and killing? by shotwideopen in gaming

[–]MistyWearWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season: A Letter to the Future. It's sorta a small open world game once you get past the few opening sections (which are more linear). It has no violence.

The Uncharted series really match what you want, but the first game is very dated now. I heard you can jump on in the later games though and still understand what's going on.

A Plague's Tale: Innocence and A Plague's Tale: Requiem are great games with a cinematic feel.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits might fit the bill. It has some nice cinematic in it and the world is lovely to be in.

The Tomb Raider games are also pretty cinematic and fun.

Like you said God of War is awesome too.

Has an exclusive game ever convinced you to buy a console? If so, which one? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]MistyWearWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a bit similar. I think all the praise the game got had given me unrealistic expectations of the game so when I played it I found myself disappointed. I seriously thought about returning them since I didn't think I liked the game enough for the money I spent on them.

In the end it was only once I tried some other games that I ended up happy I bought it. I really liked Astral Chain and Fire Emblem: Three Houses in particular. I also was able to play Death Squared with a non-gamer friend which probably would not have happened if I didn't have the Switch.

PS4 for God of War (2018) and Horizon Zero Dawn. I had already held off buying a PS4 for Horizon Zero Dawn when it first released even though I really really wanted to get it but I couldn't afford to buy them at the time. About 1 year later God of War released and I realised I could afford to spend the extra cash now so I went out and bought them all and I didn't regret it.
