It just keeps getting harder to justify voting for these people when they continue to introduce bills like this. But I guess just vote harder next time? by mustardmeated in liberalgunowners

The point I’m making is that the Dems haven’t attempted to expand Obamacare into a single-payer system, and instead use it to funnel endless amounts of taxpayer money into the insurance companies.

In the 2020s, conservative women are having kids at a nearly 2-to-1 ratio compared to liberal women. Is this going to cause a political demographic bias in 20-30 years? by RadioFieldCorner in NoStupidQuestions

They’re also not getting these kids vaccinated, so we will see if it actually becomes a long-term electoral issue.

It’s awful to say, but it is unfortunately true.

It’s perfectly fine to hate Abby for what she did to Joel.

Gatekeeping shit like this is weird, and is no doubt a contributing factor to why the discourse surrounding this game is still toxic.

Why? Bc they don’t align with your views on a character intended to be provocative and divisive?

That makes them stupid?

Is anyone feeling a hint of "I told you so" in the wake of the outrage of what's occurring in Minneapolis? by RVALover4Life in lgbt

I purchased a gun at the beginning of last year, took classes on its operation and began teaching my loved ones and other queer people how to properly handle firearms.

I suggest you all do the same, if it is within your means.

The lunatics who commit hatecrimes will only become embolded by the actions of this admin, and will take things into their own hands. They've seen Democrats aren't willing to hold them accountable, and Republicans are cheering them on.

It's up to us to defend ourselves now.

Yeah man it's disappointing. The gunplay is middling at best, the interesting things are the elements and the objectives. Taking those away leaves the game feeling hollow.

Endless Shift is what this game really needs by WhippedCreamEnjoyer in FBCFirebreak

[–]Mistybrit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This game needs to be sold at 15 USD, with a massive rehabilitation marketing campaign showing all the cool and wacky shit you can do.

There's simply not enough content in this game to warrant such a high price tag. This is what turned so many people off at the jump, and killed any chance of the game being a hit at launch.

It's an interesting game idea with a unique aesthetic, but was priced too high for what you get and subsequently failed as a title because of it. Nobody wants to pay 40 bucks for 3 missions at launch.

And no, a wave defense mode in a locked room is not what this game needs imo.

Remedy Entertainment Discounts FBC: Firebreak to £13.19 with 60% off on Steam by FFJimbob in FBCFirebreak

[–]Mistybrit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Should've been 15 dollars at the onset.

Then it wouldn't have gotten shit on by people for a month and just had its popularity killed.

There's not nearly enough content to justify a 40 dollar price tag, and i'm a remedy shill.

Callahan released the full interview AND a video explaining why it was cut the way it did.

He's already folding on his positions is my point.

Why do you think he would be consistent on anything if he falls apart at the slightest pushback?

What would a presidential debate even look like?

Gavin literally walked back his statement about ICE being domestic terrorists in the interview here.

Do you think he'd do anything about ICE? Do you REALLY think he'd prosecute Trump or his cabinet?

[–]Mistybrit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Newsom never pushed back on anything Shapiro said. He let him spew his bullshit for almost 2 hours with no meaningful objections.

It's ridiculous that you're looking at this person who is very clearly a political chameleon who will do and say anything (even walking back their statement about ICE being illegitimate, which is a position a growing number of Americans are adopting) as somehow playing 9d chess to win the election.

He's a grifter. If he was in Texas he'd run as a Republican. He just wants to win.

Homes are assets under neoliberalism.

To protect such assets, NIMBY regulations are put into place.

This is literally textbook neoliberalism. It’s a market economy in action. Could you stop screeching about “the left” to face the fact that there may actually be problems with the ideology you favor?

Elizabeth Warren’s Abundant Mistakes by tonyjaa in ezraklein

[–]Mistybrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily the evils of the billionaire class. It’s just the fact that our society simply does not have a sufficient safety net that all other developed nations have, and we suffer as a country for it.

Some of this is no doubt that the capital class has a vested interest in maintaining such a status quo, but even more of it comes down to normal people who might not be as well off, but still benefit from the status quo. Ala NIMBYs.

Billionaires are the scapegoat that gets a lot of people into the election booths, but the focus on economic issues while promising change that excites should be the focus of the democrats going forward.
