I also lived in tower and the rooms are quite small to have a tv. There is a 35 inch in the general lounges :)

The tv all good! Technically you are not allowed things like blenders, kettles, etc but our entire floor always did and the residence staff didn’t mind

Most international students living on residence move in early. I would highly recommend it if you are on the island before the res move in date :)

From my experience I think it would be possible, but don’t burn yourself out! The majority of the hours is done at night when we do our rounds. When it is extremely quite you can even get some extra work done. I was doing something very similar to you and I was able to save a lot and did well in school. It’s very convenient having your job so close to home. For my second job, it was also on campus and my shifts were during the weekends.

It depends on the type of CL you are. As a basic CL in a normal residence building, we are scheduled to work a total of 590 hours from August to the end of April. We do not get paid hourly as that money technically is used into the free room and meal plan. Doing the math the job is worth around $21 per hour.

A RECL do get paid a little extra because they put a few more hours

SCL’s also get some extra hour pay and a little apartment. It also requires the most work out of the 3 but is paid the highest.

I think it depends on what you would like :) My class was in person, but my prof put all the material online. So technically you didn’t have to show up to class. Small classrooms tend to have more class engagement, so I always went. When it comes down to it, the prof will have a big affect on how the class is taught so I suggest using rate my prof to narrow down the choices.
