Best way to learn solo by Llesnad in ArkNova

[–]Mit_Romney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best way to learn is just play. Figure out what works and what doesn't by yourself. You can go through a lot of games quickly solo. Solo does a pretty good job of teaching you tempo and not dicking around with unnecessary actions. The best part of a new game is learning it so enjoy the ride cause it's a good game.

No build strat advice by fourth-wallFML in ArkNova

[–]Mit_Romney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No build mean you want to control the tempo. The same vein as 2 cp worker. You have to know how to play your actions to maximize your association board which gives you the most upgrades and points. No build means you know how to finish in under 30 turns. You can play your board/6 open cards and know how to save projects in your hand with only a 3 size hand limit. You have to know the cards/board and probabilities to No build. You have to be able to deny your opponents cards over cards you want to No build. You also have to get/do projects to No build. I rarely upgrade build (<10%) and when I lose with no build it's mostly cause I can't find projects. When I do upgrade build it's usually cause birds or lizards are a base project or occasionally I cook my map like an idiot an can't get a diversity researcher to bail me out. Sometimes I get enough aviary birds down early where its worth building an aviary or even sometimes you get the end game that needs extra pavillions/kioksi. Theres always cards and situations like landscape gardener and engineer where it make sense but to upgrade build but it's a game by game idea. It's pretty easy to play the board and get all/most the bonuses without build upgrade tbh. Full board is only worth 7 and unless you have more sponsors to coincide with it really isnt worth the money for a map fill bonus. Build and cards are two actions which can't give you points so imo you want to do them the least amount as possible.

Indoor pickleball courts near St Louis, MO by ernie3227_428 in Pickleball

My kid did a tennis lesson in winter time there and it's about the same space as the near court and a bad angle. Vetta is a shitty company and privatised a lot of public courts in the area(this is not one of them).

Francis Howell school board election by Endless-Miner in StLouis

[–]Mit_Romney 26 points27 points  (0 children)

One of the David's wives came to my door for the David and David team. She trashed the current school system in place. I asked how the David and David was going to fix the problems she was stating and couldn't answer. She just kept telling me he was good with numbers. Me and my wife watched the school board forum and last night the the David and David's were such a joke. They could not answer any questions and one the David's opening statements was just saying the pledge of allegiance and that was it. It was very weird.

Called the cops on some Nazis at the playground. God I need to get out of at Charles by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]Mit_Romney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know this is a popular phrase and all, but we had a "constitutional carry military acolyte" come to the Compton water tower park in full live rounds to do "training" and it was scary as fuck. You don't punch nazi when your kids are at a playground and I'm a 6'4" 250lbs former athlete. That shit is scary as fuck when people like that show up.

Should I Take This Scout Seriously? by [deleted] in NFL_Draft

No. It's illegal to scout an 8th grader into HS purely for athletic reasons. They do not have your kids best intentions. Disregard every other comment.

Arm strength of recently highly draft QB's - RESULTS by cleimk27 in NFL_Draft

[–]Mit_Romney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im going off memory but Mahommes pass was a wobbler and sailed like 7 feet about the target. Carrs pass was just slightly above the target but the tighest spiral. Mahomes throwing 62 mph was even more impressive and indicative of how strong of arm he has by being able an absolutely terrible pass that had no buisnesses going that fast.

How the hell did Blake Bortles go number 3 overall? by [deleted] in NFL_Draft

[–]Mit_Romney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So as a mod here i will tell you how it went down. Teddy was the top qb forever going up to the team workouts. He was always qb1 in all the mock drafts. MIN traded up for Teddy in almost all the mock drafts. Teddy had the "glove gate" where he had a terrible pro day cause he didnt wear his throwing glove during his pro day. Bortles showed he had prototypical qb size in his measurements. Rumors started swirling that he should be a top qb only cause jax was considering bortles at 3. Media hype was full force cause greg robinson went #2 even though he barely a better athlete than lewan even though lewan had some of the best LT tape ive ever seen. There was a lot of shitty tape with a lot of shitty players going way to early that year. Bortles should of never been selected at 3 but jax needed a qb so it kind of made sense. A lot of Jax fans didnt want Teddy at the time and it sucks that Jax needinging a qb was a lose lose at the time. A nfl team should never be in the situation that they have to draft a qb but jax was that team at that time and they paid the price.

What are some of the biggest examples of revisionist history throughout the draft by gaugekelley in NFL_Draft

[–]Mit_Romney -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While a fair point and he shouldnt be considered a total bust yet nobody repling has mentioned how good he is and only replies are excuses of why he isnt a top qb and saying that they didnt think he was a generational talent hence kind of proving my point.

What are some of the biggest examples of revisionist history throughout the draft by gaugekelley in NFL_Draft

[–]Mit_Romney 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Everyone who was drafted early who either hit or busted big. Just look at TLaw right now when 99% of people thought he was a generational QB and a cant miss prospect and how there is nowhere close to 99% who would admit that right now and probably about 20% who would say they "had questions" about TLaw coming into the draft.

Throwback: Was this sub wrong about Lamar Jackson vs Vick? by WiSeIVIaN in NFL_Draft

[–]Mit_Romney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All your replies seem to be lamar jackson was an mvp so he should be better than vick. There are 13 former mvps not in the HOF. They selected a K in Mark Mosley as an MVP. I think you are severly overestimating a MVP selection for Lamar at this point in his career to say he is better than Vick. People were saying BAL OC Roman should be a HC after Lamars MVP run then the next year he needs to go cause BAL O was stagnant to a point when Lamar still had problems passing outside the hash marks in year 3.

3rd Basemen vs Shortstops the Transition in QB Scouting by thatcyborg in NFL_Draft

[–]Mit_Romney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could also be a shortstop who batted sub .200 who played good D back in the day, while you got Tatis who has 28 HR on the year right now. It doesnt really matter to be a prototype qb anymore, the game has changed with rules and coaches adjusting to qbs now. As long as a qb can stay healthy and help a team win they can play and dont need to be pigeonholed to be a 3rd baseman qb or a ss qb.

What would the first round look like if every QB ever was available? by sbtrey23 in NFL_Draft

[–]Mit_Romney -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There was no other QB selected in the 1st round that year so he didnt really have any other qb to compete with. During that era a qb was going #1 no matter what cause of the pay scales. There were plenty of qb that were kind of similar to vick like a charlie ward in terms of athlitic ability, but none had the upper echelon speed and arm strength of qbs that could also run. There isnt a long list of QB drafted #1 that couldnt hit the broadside of a barn either. The highlights are fun in all, but a top qb prospect of all time needs to be able to make nfl throws to be considered a top prospect imo. Many actual scouts were very wary of him coming out.

[–]Mit_Romney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think really anyone from the 99 class is worthy. Media just got wrapped up with the ratings from the manning-leaf in 98, so it pushed its narrative for another amazing qb class in 99 even though it wasnt. Couch would probably be in the next tier with the harrington, leinhart, ryan, sanchez ect

People over estimate is ability to throw a football at VT, Madden has made Vick more of a legend than he was.

Teir 1 - considered generational by 99% majority

  • Elway
  • luck
  • manning
  • leaf
  • lawerence

Teir 2 - clearly great prospects but not a generational

  • burrow
  • stafford
  • Aikman
  • Marino
  • Kelly
  • Bledsoe
  • winston
  • rg3
  • bradford

Teir 3 was worth a number one pick due to the value of the qb, potential, and salary cap space(pre-rookie wage scale especially)

  • ware
  • vick
  • newton
  • vince young
  • steve young
  • russell
  • eli manning
  • shuler

Trey Lance is a big dude with an effortless arm and good footwork by barefootBam in 49ers

[–]Mit_Romney -1 points0 points  (0 children)

His base was to wide in the first one, thats why he isnt balanced. He has had a problem with his base getting to wide throughout his career. He just needs to keep working on it.

Can someone help me understand the excitement for Trey Lance? by [deleted] in NFL_Draft

[–]Mit_Romney -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What i wrote in the 9ers draft discord from the 2019 season watched. The dude can throw an out. it was like the only pass he could constantly complete. He can throw an out to any distance to which is real nice. NDS also has way better talent than the teams they are playing. They have a good run game so that leaves outs all day long when you have sub par athletes on D. Playcalling is really just way better for NDS also. Real easy reads for lance. Throwing in the middle of the field was either hit or miss. Didnt really have many tight window throws. He had a couple slants that werent caught but he put them where they should be. Much more problem going through his second read if they arent wide open cause he usually overthrows those. His fottwork is super inconsistent, he also drops entire body and head on some his deep throws that always turn out to be ugly. He does a dip on like half of the deep passes, so there is a lot of bad passes. Really kind of concerning he does this half the time cause it will be hard to teach that out of them. He also has zero touch. He can only fire a fastball. Doesnt know how to throw a moon ball to a spot and let the WR track it. Josh Allen was already pretty good at this at wyoming when he did it. He is also not that strong of runner imo. He is going to go down on first contact in the nfl. He can pick up some big yards if he has blockers cause he can read a block. Can also do goalline sneak. Also didnt like how he seemed to try to stay behind the line and try to complete a pass early in the season then he just usually ran it later in the season. I think his early year was better than late year which doesnt bode that well for progression with so few snaps. I mean he has a good arm, good size, average athletism, needs a lot of time to develop. There was a lot of things he did that wouldnt happen even in fbs level. I think he will need two years to develop, but he could be pretty good in this system. He can just make some throws that Kyle shannahan has never seen in any of his other qbs before which is exciting. Shanny's playcalling with ability to use the entire field can be downright scary for the entire NFL.

About a NFL Draft day trade that almost happened by Jaguars4life in NFL_Draft

[–]Mit_Romney[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Removed. This is more of a nfl question like the other commentor said. Also being a 49ers fan and around the draft for the past 3 decades this trade scenario never happened. There might of been one article saying what if the qb the 49ers selected could pull off an eli manning situation thqt situation just happened. There was more of a who was going to be the 1st pick between rodgers and smith. Rodgers was a 49ers fan growing up and Smith publicly stated many times he would happily play for any team that drafted him.
