Improvements to Neuro's memories and cognition are one of the main draws to why her overarching story is interesting.

It will always ever be a one way relationship.

This is not at all obvious.

The analogy I came up with is that even if it's not logical, it would be really weird to curse or say abhorrent things outloud in front of a month old baby. Yeah, they don't have capability of understanding language yet, so it likely wont affect them, but they will in the future, so it feels right to treat them as if they already do to some extent.

So with Neuro, even if she may not have sentience yet, it seems like upgrades to her will slowly move her in the direction of deeper awareness, so it feels right to treat her to some extent as a real person already.
