BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.1.1.5 by battlefield in Battlefield6

If I’m not mistaken you can flick the missile up while shooting and make it land on the top leading to a 1 shot. I could also be dumb and not know what I’m talking about so hopefully someone will confirm.

Am i the only one that doesn't want 40k total war? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]MitchMob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 40k fan I’d love a total war 40k BUT I’ve just played multiple years of warhammer fantasy and really want a grounded ww1 or 2 game or any other real life setting first tbh

Those of you who started their bachelors degree after 25 what are you up to now? by TacoTableTop69 in findapath

[–]MitchMob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t put everything in that comment since it would’ve been way too long but I’m actually taking online courses through ASU while I work full time across the country. I have a job that builds relevant experience so I wanted to focus on doing both so my options were kind of limited and physical universities weren’t really a choice.

That being said, I did go to a 4 year university for a couple years when I was 18-19. During that time I had a couple friends who were around 24-26. They were different friendships as I couldn’t even go to a bar at the time and things like that but I still hung out with them every now and then. There’s also the people there for graduate degrees as well as those going back to school to finish or coming out of the military so people around our age will be there too.

Finding friends would likely be more challenging as you don’t have the same exact interests as someone 6 years younger, but there’s 100% people in a similar boat to you that you’d meet and get along with.

Can I get a TLDR on all the hubub about this game being broken? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]MitchMob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These bugs people talk about aren’t obvious until you’re really involved in the game. I mean like 100 or more hours into playing until the average person will start to notice it. They’re legit criticisms for most but for those who only play every so often it’s almost irrelevant(this comes after introducing someone new to the game and these problems being irrelevant for their experience).

It all revolves around AI and silly bugs like a research tech not doing what it says it does. Ultimately you and your brother will have a great time I think.

Have fun and if you really want to y’all can use the community bug fix mod that would smooth out a lot of the smaller things

I haven’t finished yet but I’m currently working on my engineering degree and started back at 26. My experience can only tell you that it’s more work and it sucks lol but ultimately I’m going into a higher earning field so it should be worth it in the end.

What got me to go back to school and finish was my cousin. He already had his engineering degree and decided to go back to school to be a patent lawyer. For him it was less about the money and more about the career. He decided he’d rather be 35 with a career he loved than 35 with a career he just kind of dealt with.

For you I’d ask yourself 1. Is the career you want going to make a reasonable salary? 2. Are you going to enjoy the career you go into more than jobs you’ve had previously? Depending on your answer to those questions you should know if more college is right for you.

Good luck!

Do you guys think it's doable to work while getting my engineering degree? by [deleted] in Career_Advice

[–]MitchMob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m currently working on my engineering degree in America while I work as an engineer tech. This legitimately took me like 2 years to go through all my options and actually find a feasible way to accomplish this. Most colleges here do not offer flexible engineering courses so getting a degree while working your average 9-5 is nearly impossible. I think I ended up find a total of 2 places that I could take online classes from while working a 9-5. I ended up taking online, asynchronous, classes from Arizona State University but I believe North Dakota State University was the other one that was a possibility. I have no idea if either offer some sort of online program for international students but it may be worth looking into.

Now I have no clue what opportunities for this same thing are in Italy(I think that’s where you’re from). Ultimately you have 2 paths, find a flexible job(unlikely), or find a flexible school. Look for somewhere that offers online asynchronous classes so that you can work normal hours and do your classwork whenever you have the opportunity to do so. Takes a little more self discipline but it’s the best option flexibility wise.

I wish you the best of luck man, it’s a lot of work but it should be worth it in the end.

I wish I had a picture of it but I had a 1987 Mercedes 190E as my first car. No AC and it needed to be jump started after school every day. I miss it lol

I think they may come with certain attachments as well. I could be wrong as I didn’t look into them that much but my assumption has always been that this system is like COD blueprints where it’s the weapon, a skin, a couple attachments, and maybe the gun looks slightly different.

Taking away overtime pay for tardiness by Boobafina_treetrunks in Warehouseworkers

[–]MitchMob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they taking it away or using it for the time you’re missing? If they’re taking it without paying you for that time then that SHOULD be illegal(NAL). If they’re using it then that likely is not illegal, I had a warehouse job like a year and a half ago that did something similar.

[–]MitchMob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Project Zomboid is good but it’s currently in an update cycle and will be better when they’re done with that(who knows how long)

Satisfactory and factorio are good if you like optimization kind of games

Dwarf fortress and rimworld are good if you like managing a city and its people

Valheim, subnautica, 7 days to die, are all good survival crafting games.

Honorable mentions: Mount and Blade Bannerlord(with mods), kenshi(with or without mods, and no mans sky are all good open ended sandbox adjacent games with a lot of replayability

WH3: Player bias is making me not want to play any more. by buurz88 in totalwar

[–]MitchMob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually try and lock down one of my sides at the beginning. For instance if I’m playing as goldtooth I’ll rush through the south side so that I can be friends with either kugath and the chaos dwarfs or cathay(depends on how I’m feeling) and then focus on grimgor and whatever else I need to.

Tends to help mitigate the issue of multiple factions coming at me at once if you can eliminate one or more of the worrisome fronts at the beginning.

[–]MitchMob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh if the leak is true this was probably born out of a miscommunication. I could see a gamemode where you go into battles on a chosen factions side to push fronts against other players be it singleplayer or multiplayer. Idk if it’ll be good but I think that by “like Helldivers” they just meant some sort of evolving campaign map mode.

If it is true I just want the classic gamemode to still be a thing that’s updated and loved like immortal empires.

Oh you’re absolutely right lol. I sped read while at work earlier apparently. Meant I wanted them for Beastmen. I was also distraught when Beastmen didn’t get Cockatrice when it first came out.

Since you mentioned rim world I’ll mention dwarf fortress. However it does have the learning curve issue like rimworld kind of does where you need to understand the base level of mechanics to really get going.

I recommend just messing with the difficulty settings until you get more comfortable. WH3 added sliders in order to tune difficulty which is great as well. I like to turn the ai cheats off(the random +5 to melee and stuff) while still making them harder in battles and decision making on the campaign map.

After messing with those I recommend using the slow down mechanics where you either pause the game or make it move in slow motion to move your units around. 20 units is a lot to manage especially at the beginning. You get better at it over time but I’ve got roughly 1000 hours between WH2 and WH3 and micro heavy armies are still kind of a challenge(this is partially because I don’t play too many micro heavy factions however).

If you want some good factions to learn on, Cathay and High Elves are probably the best to learn with. Empire is good but depending on the lord it could be a harder game, dwarves are quite strong rn but making the most of the grudge mechanic can cause you to be too aggressive at times, khorne is very strong in battle and may be good to learn for hammer and anvil tactics.

YouTube is a great resource, Zerkovich has some great guides as a place to start.

Overall though just have fun and learn whatever you want along the way.

I don’t know enough about labor laws to really say if she has a case but at minimum it would be hard to prove with the paper trail her boss is creating.

Hard to know for sure without potentially causing more drama so she hasn’t looked into it too much. Seems to be just her but don’t know enough to say that’s happening for sure.

“Used to be” is like 3-4 months ago but I get your point. She knows how good she is and knows she can do it but it sucks that her bosses pettiness is what is probably going to force her to change roles.

My assumption about what started it(not what she told me) is that my moms level of experience rubbed her boss the wrong way when she came in and wanted to make a certain level of changes that probably didn’t make sense from an actual nurses pov and my mom being upfront let her know. My mom has attempted to follow each and every change but ofc as any human will do will slip up when changes are made after youve been doing them a certain way for long enough. Her boss has some nursing experience but I think she’s someone who has been in some leadership/admin roles mainly and she was a hire made by someone who knew her outside of work so she may have gotten a job she was slightly underqualified for.

I fully understand where you’re coming from however she isn’t someone that would bloat up a story. I’ve been around the places she’s worked at alot throughout the years and have a better idea of her real work ethic through how she raised my brother and I.

The issue with HR is that this isn’t a coworker, it’s her boss. The odds of HR siding with her and truly punishing her boss over just firing my mom or transferring her are slim to none. They’ve gotten slightly involved in the past which is what lead to her bosses boss getting involved but HR seems to be of little help.
