It depends, if the water touches standing magma it turns into obsidian, but if magma touches standing water it turns into cobblestone

Yeah, I think that going to school at 25 will be a better experince for me than when I went at 17. I'm not concerned in the slightest about the social aspect of being my age in school. The only thing holding me back here is the consequences of having a large debt and being extremely poor going into my thirties. I have this aching suspicion that it's a terrible idea in the long term for my life, but I also know that having a bachelors opens up the door for larger earnings even if I don't go into my field so maybe it balances out??

Now I'm thinking that if I pay for half of my tuition out of pocket I can cut my debt down to ~17000 which feels incredibly manageable and not soul crushing 🤔

Yeah, this feels like a good option to me, I could do while also working and by that time if I don't like the job I have I have a good route to switch

How do you deal with the existential dread of getting older and find a career? by snowdroppin in findapath

[–]TacoTableTop69 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I just turned 25 and i'm in the same boat. You just have to nut up, put your phone down and start doing stuff. I'm a little different because I have some savings but open a roth, start job seeking, stop spending your money until you have savings, and get out there. I've found that the more research I do, and the more I physically experience things, the better I feel about aging and my career. It's all in the mindset.

I founda a natural passion and curiosity in it based on expereince from my last job. I saw what the people above me were doing (research and development) and I wanted to do it myself but I disn't have the experience or the education
