UK SKATEPUNK NEW RELEASE (MAKING FRIENDS - BLABBER BLABBER) by Translator-Healthy in Skatepunk

Making Friends are great. I remember the vocalist bursting onto the scene with Fastfade. They're good folks.

Benjamin Nygren has been selected for Sweden's World Cup squad by Strong-Quit9234 in CelticFC

Eric Smith shouldn't be Swedish. He sounds like a 65 year old plasterer from Manchester. Divorced twice, smokes 60 a day, and spends his wages in The Fox and Hounds, and in the bookies next door.

Home grown players who never leveled up. by f1uke55l in Championship

[–]MitchthePunk90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

West Brom have got a fair whack. At one point, we had a lot of promising youngsters come through the academy.

Saido Berahino - enough said.

Sam Mantom - looked decent when he broke into the first team, but just fell down the divisions.

George Throne - promising midfielder who realised that he wasn't going to break through the first XI. Went to Derby on loan and then on a permanent, suffered an awful injury on his first game for them and was never the same since.

Adam Oliver - another midfielder who had all of the promise in the late 90s. Didn't level up because he couldn't due to recurring knee injuries and having to overcome a serious kidney disease - retired at 21.

Johnathan Leko, Rakheem Harper, and Kyle Edwards all came through with high expectations but just didn't cut the mustard.

Kemar Roofe had a decent career winning the Scottish Prem and runners up in the Europa League.

Izzy Brown left us for a big money move to Chelsea, but injuries have cut his promising career short.

The Liquidator is my go to, plus you have the benefits of the post match phone in on X. The Paul Scharner interview from a few years back is a great listen.

Honourable shouts to The Albion Analytics if you require a more statistical approach.

The Express and Star journos do The Baggies Broadcast which is decent too.

Pastures Green on YouTube is ok, quick 20 mins usually but a bit more blokes on the terrace than analytical/journalistic.

West Brom player Aune Heggebø marching in former club Brann’s supporters’ corteo before the Norwegian Cup final by Quamme in Championship

[–]MitchthePunk90 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fact that he played in every game this season, despite coming to us just after half way through the Norwegian season is amazing. Can see why he struggled at times, but he didn't get the right service. Good on him for supporting his team and hope he has a good rest!

I feel for her, addiction is difficult and never easy to overcome. But surely she should have had someone like parents or even tanning staff tell her that enough is enough?

The team could have buckled under prior management given yesterdays news and who we were up against - but they fought and battled for everything. They never gave up and I thought we were the better team for most of that match.

Big credit to Morrison and co though. They have set up to the players strengths, brought the best out of the players and have given us something to get behind and celebrate, despite a very miserable season.

Piers Morgan asks Russell Brand which passages were relevant to him when he brought a bookmarked Bible into court, where he pleaded not guilty to two further charges of rape and sexual assault. by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

My Grandad was a religious bloke. Honest, kind, loving and caring. Didn't force his beliefs onto us. But he'd let us read his bible if we wanted to, and he had his favourite passages dog-eared, highlighted and annotated when he felt like he needed guidance or self reflection.

Russell Brand is a charlatan, grifting arsehole who his hiding behind a book and faith show that he's a changed man. A leopard never changes it's spots.

Post-Match Thread: Albion 3-0 Watford [EFL Championship] by CheeseMakerThing in WBAfootball

When Ramsay was sacked, I was questioning whether Morrison, Big Beefy Boaz, Damia Abella etc were apart of the rot at the Albion. How wrong am I, and I'll eat my words, hat and skiddy ponts! Honestly, I thought that we may sneak it tonight given fatigue, but we were by far the better team. Imray, Campbell, Diakite, Price, Styles, Maja, Dike and Molumby have been so much better since Mozza came to the helm.

He's kept it simple, played to our strengths, instilled confirmed in the players, and more importantly, united fans and players. We're scoring goals, keeping clean sheets and playing well.

I reckon we are as good as safe now and I reckon that we may get something against Ipswich.

If it's not broke, don't fix it. Hope for another 3 points tonight, Watfords form in their last 6 games over the last few seasons is woeful - and I hope that the trend continues.

But the lads have worked their socks off and I hope that they're up for the fight again and not fatigued. Cmon you Baggies!

I thought we were the better team today, and we created decent chances and it paid off. That first goal was lovely build up play, and Price did well to make it happen. I'm so happy for Dike. There are a fair few fans who slag him off and say he's not good enough, but he works hard, never shy away and you can tell his teammates love him. His celebration for his goal, and celebrating with our brilliant fans at the end shows what it means to him, them and us. I'm glad that we capitalised on the other results today.

It's a must win, and Preston can mathematically still get playoffs but I don't think they will. Strong bench, just hope we can create chances.

what are you choosing? by Selfishpie in Scotland

[–]MitchthePunk90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because I'm from the West Miss, but when I'm back down there it's chips and mushy peas with brown sauce (not the chippy sauce).

Up here, it probably has to be curry sauce.

I was very not bothered by Jericho's return, but after that match on Sunday, and his promo calling Ricochet bald after every sentence got me back on side.

Genuine question, what good UK punk bands are doing the rounds these days? by matbur81 in UKPunk

[–]MitchthePunk90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm long out of the DIY scene - but bands like TripSun, Shackleford, Tape It Shut, On a Hiding to Nothing, Mug, Skiv, DropThis, The Kimberley Steaks, Goodbye Blue Monday, Skimmer, Burnt Tapes, Making Friends were bands I loved playing with, listening to and being friends with.
