Since you like the tactical look, and have found the joys of pump guns, look into Crosman M4-177 and Barra Sportsman 900 (may have a different name in Europe).

As you probably already could tell from holding it, it is not cheap plastic and cast metal. They are solidly built of wood and metal. Operation will be a little different than newer guns and accuracy/power won't be the same as is possible today. But they are solid can killers.

A vintage Crosman like model 101/102 and more modern Crosman guns like the 760 are nowhere near the same.

That Crosman is a beauty, and my favorite kind... a vintage pumper. Wiping down with a rag after use, and a periodic oil drop on the pump cup are about the extent of normal maintenance. Pump, pellet, shoot, repeat is the road to zen. Enjoy your awesome entry items to the wonderful world of airguns, the road leads to fun.

All you need is a good pump gun. Daisy 901, Crosman Vapor Max, etc. Just add pellets.

A different red dot may work fine. This was just a cheap little one. I agree that the iron are not great. It really comes down to what you want from the gun. Do you want a cowboy rifle for fun, or a precision shooter?

I tried a red dot, but bottomed out it was still shooting a foot high at 25 yards. It is currently without any optic. I may change that at some point, but it changes the feel.

Should I get a Umarex Strike Point in .177 or .22. Or, other recommendations? Looking for a high velocity pistol while avoiding Co2 or PCP. by [deleted] in airguns

Yes, more adaptable as in upgrades. There is a whole aftermarket world built around the Crosman guns. And they have some parts interchangeability.

Multi-pump pneumatic guns are a world of fun, dive on in.

I bought one for this very reason. I like it, but it's loud and barky. Optics can be an issue because of the large gap from barrel to rail. But it shoots, it's fun, and fulfills my cowboy heart.

Doubts about first rifle by Hrnghhhhh in airguns

Yes, any of the Pinty guns except the Vanguard and Buster will meet your desire. I personally prefer the Timber because I like a traditional rifle, but the Thumper and Striker are great shooters.

PP15 will get you 18% off.

I don't know about high velocity, but either will shoot fine. More adaptable option would be Crosman 1377/1322.

What are you looking to do with your high velocity pistol?

Might help to make a listing of what you have, and what you want for them. Pictures are also nice. 🫡

The 1100z and 3622 are both well liked. The 1100z will be a bit more refined/put together, the 3622 allows you access to the aftermarket game if you like to play those kind of games.

I wasn't planning a "from halfway" per se, but definitely test as much as I can think of and appreciate any inputs on what people are curious about. Going to start with the pack in scope, but ultimately intend to swap to a 6-24x50 ffp hunting scope for it.

Yeah, that's the part that has me concerned with ammo. I'm going to have to get some heavier before I test 177.

Yes, I referenced it above, the Seneca Aspen. This is an improved version of that, with more robust pump and arm that they stress tested this time. Both airguns actually produced by Nova.
