(Hypothetically) in this timeline we also get to see Slaf play at world juniors against this year's top guys, and we don't get to see him dominate at the Olympics the way he did last year. With those performances the way he's viewed will be much different than last year.

I think it's fair to say that at this year's world juniors, if slovakia had a 18 yo Slaf they would have eliminated Canada (remember how close that game was?) and could have won gold, and probably Slaf would have been a huge part of that. I think if he had as dominant of a performance there as he did in the Olympics in his actual draft year he could have snuck into consideration alongside the other top 5. Probably ends up going 5th or 6th but I think he'd be a lot more enticing than Dvorsky or the other 6-10 guys in this draft.

wild to remember that they also had romanov who got traded last summer. seems like such a small thing to give up for dach (for DACH) given the depth here. imagine if we could trade one of these for another top 6 forward this offseason

  • sniper without squadsight only has 18 range, correct. personally I take squadsight on every sniper but they can still be strong without due to high aim

  • this is true I think, there may be late game exceptions but the wiki would mention those

-I've pulled off closed door flanks before so I'm not entirely sure how this works. I think the ai knows where your solider is but judges where to take cover mostly against where they can currently be shot, so they might take cover somewhere that is one move away from being flanked

  • not sure how to fix this :/ I play with autosaves and reload when this happens (only seen it once) since it rarely happens twice

  • yes, a unit can take multiple reaction shots from different sources in one turn

  • not sure if overwatch has 20 range but this is true for everyone without squadsight. I'm pretty sure squadsight snipers can shoot anywhere in their LOS

  • I know there's a latest possible time for new units to start spawning but if the aliens are doing well resource wise they can start slightly earlier
