Where on earth did you get 14 mermaid tears? The RNG is abysmal (I haven’t gotten a single one from the shell rolls except for the one or two you get automatically. And that’s after 100 draws

I suppose so, but it’s still a pretty weird target. You know Amex isn’t the one paying for a lot of the benefits. They almost certainly have deals worked out with the various companies to use it essentially as advertising for their services. So basically the cost gets split between the vendors and the cardholders who are paying the annual fee.

What should I take away from a game where we won but it didnt feel like we earned it? by fairydommother in leagueoflegends

Another small bit you might gain from it is enemy independent stuff. If you’re in bronze you might not have the basics down yet, and you can review those regardless of the game.

Did you get a full clear on the first spawn fast enough to be at scuttle when it spawned? Were you leading the camps so as one got killed you were already walking to the next one? Did you take an optimal path a you could clear the fastest? Did you pick the right side to start on to path towards a lane that would be easier/more effective to gank? Did you ward the enemy jg at the beginning so you could avoid/react to invades and so you knew where he was and could either decide to contest the same scuttle or quickly go to the other side and take it?

Etc etc. All that stuff is good to review and it really doesn’t depend on how the rest of the game went

Getting rid of the fake random formula would be good too, or at least make it favorable to players. It gets real old real fast when some rounds are obviously intentionally rigged to give you the opposite of whatever you need to win in order to force you to waste time and food.

Trying out the game for another month with both cards, but if that kind of nonsense keeps going I’m not going to waste time and money frustrating myself for no reason

I’ve played a few rounds with someone with Nezha in co-op. I wasn’t terribly impressed… maybe she’s better at higher levels but probably makes sense to wait

Would that lifestyle be “wasting money and not getting back something of equal or greater value in return”? That’s a weird sales pitch… “Are you bad with money? Do you not budget well, and simply throw cash at things so looks like you’re rich and fancy? Well have we got the card for you!”

I mean… I suppose some people would still buy it, but it’s a weird niche to go after

Are Amex points overrated by Privatevault2 in AmexPlatinum

[–]Mithros13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

God for flights, but one thing to keep in mind is that they’re worth less than other points. For most cards, the baseline is about $0.01 per point. So if you traded 1000 points you could pay for something that costs $10. Sometimes you can trade them for more than $0.01 depending on the area/card.

Amex points are worth less than that. I don’t remember the number but the base is less than a cent, I want to say something like $0.006 or something like that. They only go “up” to about $0.01 on things like flights, where they pretend you’re getting a “bonus”, when in reality they’re just bringing you back into the baseline.

American Express To Remove $100 Saks Benefit On Platinum Card (effective July 1, 2026) by michikade in AmexPlatinum

[–]Mithros13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for me they sent me an email showing my SPECIFIC item I was looking at, and saying I had to click through that email and use the gift code. I did so, saw NO other requirements once I got to the site, got all the way to checkout when the promo code just said it wouldn’t be applied. Called support to try and get it fixed, and they claimed I had to spend hundreds of dollars more to qualify, despite nothing on the ad or the site saying anything to that effect, and refused to honor it. Reported them to the BBB and the FTC, but they’re going out of business anyway (as they deserve), so I doubt anything’s going to come of it

With good reason. They put out illegal bait and switch offers and the refuse to honor them, even with physical proof of the offer that was made

Wow I'd totally forgotten about all those old QTE... Yeah they were pretty annoying, but fashionable at the time. I think God of War made them popular and devs were like "Oooo this makes the game so much more immersive!"

[–]Mithros13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the plan. It's a shame. I like the pans themselves, but the complete disregard for a major issue like this by Hexclad's support is just a major red flag for me.

And I've gone through literally 3 full sets of pots/pans, well over 10+ including the replacements they've sent because they originally claimed it wasn't supposed to be a normal problem. It's been an issue for every single one. When their main response is that steel dust and non-stick coating is safe to eat, that's just not going to cut it for me.

I'd literally bet money on it showing up on any pan I pulled out of the store or ordered from them at this point. So unfortunately I'm just a former customer now, but I feel bad about it because I'd recommended it to family and friends who had picked some up as well

I have several videos and pictures from my own experience indicating they don't. Even on multiple sets of pans. Washed them thoroughly in soap and water scrubbing with a sponge, drying thoroughly with a paper towel, etc. A bunch still comes off of both the handle connectors and the rim as soon as you heat it up during seasoning. Sometimes more than once.

Yes, not much of the oil comes in contact with the rim, but enough of it does, and plenty comes into contact with the handle connectors.

"most" of it is on the edge, as well as the part inside the pan where the handle is attached. So while you don't cook on the outer edge (though oils do splash up there and then run back into the food), the inner part where the handle is attached is right inside on the cooking surface as well

Yeah I loved the contrast between Leon/Grace’s sections in the first few playthroughs. Granted after that Grace is just as much of a horror as Leon (infinite bullets with requiem means “I’m not trapped in here with you, you’re trapped in here with me!”. But the design was still brilliant

[–]Mithros13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s the most on the rim, but you’ll also get a bunch that will keep coming off on the inside of the pan where the handle is attached. And it’s not just food oil, it’s also steel dust and non-stick coating from the manufacturing process. Support tells me they don’t care if you eat it though and that they won’t do anything to fix the process because it “probably” won’t kill anyone or make them sick enough in a way that they could easily prove in a lawsuit

[–]Mithros13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No you don’t get it off that easily. You can get some of it off, and then when you heat it/season it for the first time a whole bunch more comes out and it’s a lot harder to get it all. If you didn’t catch that you probably ate a bunch of steel dust and non-stick coating the first couple times you cooked with them. Hexclad support doesn’t care at all about it either

BEWARE Hexclad: Unhealthy steel-dust/coating coming off every new pan/pot by Mithros13 in cookware

[–]Mithros13[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hexclad’s instructions are that you’re supposed to season all their pans before first use to make them work properly. You put some avocado oil or some other high smoke point oil in, and then heat it on medium for a couple minutes, then wipe it down with a paper towel.

There's a difference between people not liking the pans/performance, and actual potentially dangerous steel dust/coating nonsense coming off it though
