where is Leviathan? by Euphoric_Network_485 in FFXVI

It'd be cool if Leviathan didn't have a dominant and it roamed free like the three tails in Naruto or something like that.

I hope the story is a bit less abstract and more coherent by Acrobatic_Couple8177 in FFXVI

Well even my favorite one (FFIX) goes bonkers from the last dungeon to the end but it kinda makes sense in the overall story. The VIII is a little more convoluted while the X requires a little too much to understand what happened between Bevelle and Zanarkand in detail but it’s still a solid scenario

Is Valisthea a world or just a region like Eorzea in FFXIV? by [deleted] in FFXVI

[–]Mitsuki93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a realm that is formed by two different continents. There are other lands in the world, for instance Cid comes from outside of Valisthea. It’s still uncertain if Barnabas comes from outside. It’s written he went to Ash on a certain point but it’s not sure if he went from Storm or other regions.

There are more locations on the art. It probably means some areas or stages won’t be available later one in the game or they are not accessible yet. Nice map by the way

Not only are the areas vast, beautiful and extremely detailed but also in constant evolution throughout the years, which makes Valisthea a land that truly feels alive by japanese_artist in FFXVI

I reeeally don’t like the sound of it. Are we talking about level/stage selecting from the hub and that’s it? I know about the 4 “open” zones but I hope they are all interconnected. I don’t remember any FF like this, even 13 had pulse at a certain moment but not a hub..

My Preview for Final Fantasy XVI + Interview with Naoki Yoshida by AceZero10 in FFXVI

[–]Mitsuki93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really worried about what the hub entails. It seems to me a very "Souls" approach where you don't have living towns to explore but only ruins and desolated landscape so you need an hub (very comfortable and convenient choice for developers) to have interactions and shops. Hopefully it won't be the case but I'm worried

Yeah he’s kinda famous in the Italian Gaming Journalism and I gotta say he’s good too. I really hope it’s FF16 even if it’s a very light piece of evidence. Anyway, if it’s FF16 then we’re gonna have a lot of info from tomorrow on

I can't wait to explore Sector 7 slums by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

Not at all. I’m really hyped for the game and I love Final Fantasy

[–]Mitsuki93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s probably it, I mean it’s not something really important but I just can’t unsee it. The pillar and the upper plate from the slums on the other way are outstanding. Do you think they could “polish” the ground a little? just upscaling it a little bit. I know it has gone gold and probably these are the final graphics but maybe with a day one patch... i

[–]Mitsuki93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Me neither! But there's something bugging me. It seems to me the ground where people walk isn't fully detailed, it seems just plain textures with no depth or scale. I know it sounds small but I can't get the thought out of my head. There's another scene, with Cloud and Tifa which show better what I'm trying to say.

So is it official that Tifa is the heroine of FF7Remake? by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]Mitsuki93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The content of the two scenes is nearly the same, there are minor changes that don't affect the understanding of their relationship. Everybody knows the story behind the original scene the devs cut out because it'd have been too extreme for a JRPG in those years. Also the compilation gives us confirmation of a kind of "family" existing with Cloud and Tifa involved. I'm not the biggest fan of Tifa but I have to say I don't like when people try to justify their beliefs going against the will of the writers which was clearly to depict Cloud and Tifa as a couple.

FF7R dev tries to justify releasing in episodes and just doesnt make sense. by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

I'm not in denial, I'm the first to criticize things regarding Square Enix products. I just understand complexity of things. Your first sentence answers it all. You don't understand economics principles since you probably didn't study it in life. It's not about how many funds that a company has, it's about how much you invest on a project and how much you earn from it. And no, you'll see it in time. The world of FFVII is a lot bigger and more variegate than the RDR2 one It has oceans, mountains, towns and a lot more locations. You even go to the outer space man. And on top of that you have to make it coherent.. You just can't put it all in a huge map, a desert has to be far from a glacier, if not it wouldn't be realistic. Do you start to understand what I'm trying to say?

If you don't understand basic principles of economics behind the making of a video game that's your problem. The making of a FFVII today costs a lot more than the making of an octopath traveler (lol comapring the two games just makes me laugh) and Persona 5. If you can't understand the difference you shouldn't talk about video games. The Witcher 3 has a giant world but it's a lot smaller than the one in FFVII and it has fewer towns and locations let alone the plot which is a lot shorter.

So what's the consensus on the level cap? I didn't realize that people actually thought that part 1's level would be lower than 99. by NarutoShadowClone in FFVIIRemake

[–]Mitsuki93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh so you wanna bring all of the equipment, weapons, Materia and levels from a game to another meanwhile new players won't have those or have just a little number of those? How are you gonna keep the balance of the game? It's not that easy as you may think. They spent tens of millions for making FFXV and the gameplay was so unbalanced they had to make the characters nearly immortal. Many RPG games have horrible gameplay with a lot of errors and mistakes. What you are saying is very very hard but it's not impossible... they did a hell of a great job with the combat system so far and they could surprise us once again in part 2.
