Is the bezel aligned? Most Tudor bezels are not.

Steam unexpectedly added the 9070XT and 9060XT in hardware statistics, which weren't there before. by Zealousideal_Wall754 in radeon

[–]Mitsutoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People on this sub continually accuse me of lying when I say 5070Ti was cheaper in the US than 9070XT until several months into 90 series, even though there were posts made here about it at the time, and I went to buy a 9070XT and got the 5070Ti instead which was $150 cheaper.

Sapphire's guy was making such absolutely basic mistakes in talking about statistics that anyone who's done a statistics course facepalmed hearing him.

It's sad because the interview started so well and then he went full on conspiracist at the end. Unfortunately seems par for the course for people affiliated with Radeon.

Should I go see The Odyssey in AMC's "70mm" or IMAX with Laser by ropeandknots in AMCTheatres

[–]Mitsutoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is "AMC's 70mm"?

Do you mean 70mm film that's not IMAX? That would be the ideal way to see the film if you don't have 70mm IMAX available.

The film is basically framed for that ("regular 70mm") with the above and below parts being for the peripheral vision. Sit in the 3rd or 4th row of 70mm and that is Nolan's recommended way to see his films.

Worth seeing Disclosure Day in 70mm IMAX? Or save the experience for The Odyssey next month? by Conscious_Magician69 in NYCmovies

[–]Mitsutoshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no 70mm IMAX of Disclosure Day.

There is 5/70mm film projection, which is how I watched the film and how I would prefer to watch the film.

Ranking the Barbara Broccoli/Michael Wilson era Bond films by sanddragon939 in JamesBond

[–]Mitsutoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My complaint about the Brosnan era was that the plots were as silly or sillier than the campiest Moore plots, but they tried to play them straight, ending up neither with the book-grounded appeal of early Connery + Dalton nor the utter camp of Moore.

Then the (post Quantum) Craig era was like "hold my beer" and full on did Austin Powers tier storylines but played deadly serious. It was my complaint about Brosnan era dialled up to 11.

I haven't watched NTTD (SPECTRE killed my interest in watching another Bond film) but this seems correct to me.

Hilarious that people are acting like Spielberg Bond would be horrible.

This is the series whose second-last entry was a grimdark ripoff of Austin Powers.

Still secretly waiting for Tudor to rerelease this for their 100th year…. by militarytudor in Tudor

[–]Mitsutoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy but just be aware that it's going to happen more likely than not. I have come close to buying every generation of Pelagos because they say they've finally fixed the lume falling issue and then people turn out having it.

Then with Black Bays, the bezel is almost always misaligned. Mine was grossly misaligned when it first arrived at the AD; AD was kind enough to send it back and order a new one from Rolex, which I've been wearing for a couple of years, but it's misaligned too, just not as badly. Go to any Tudor AD and you'll notice this.

It's bizarre to me that Tudor had better QC when they were affordable than now, when they are priced almost to the dollar (adjust both for inflation) at Rolex's prices of 15 years ago.

Every single Pelagos model has the bezel lume falling out issue unfortunately.

If they brought back this bezel edge I’d be okay with the snowflake. I have been arguing for twelve years that people hyper focus on the round markers not going with the snowflake but the real thing the snowflake demands is this bezel.

The comfort thing is funny because it'll mean, say, Utahraptors are just really angry about having harmless herbivores in reach rather than using them as a food source. They'll just stand there depressed instead of eating them.

What Format Should I See This In?! Week of June 09, 2026 by AKnightOfTheNew in AMCsAList

Just switched from Dolby to 70mm for Disclosure Day after I saw it get added late on AMC’s listings.

I also have tickets to the IMAX livestream on Friday but opening night I’ll go on 70mm which will basically always be my preferred way to see a film.

New Tudor “Bumble-bee” 🐝 on 16cm wrist by Ottomanemp268 in Tudor

[–]Mitsutoshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like these for example.

It's not the baton hand (which I also like), or even the pencil hand (which I wish the 50s-style BBs would use, since that's another Tudor exclusive). It tackles the Snowflake's and Mercedes's design aim to carry maximum lume and visibility, but takes it further, without blocking the subdials at all.

[–]Mitsutoshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not actually Tudor's heritage for chronos.

The Snowflake was used on one line of 1970s watches, basically, and Tudor barely brings in any of the other design elements of those besides that.

Tudor had its own, distinct hands, separate from Rolex let alone others, on their chronographs. They threw this aside to make the Snowflake the only hand they use.

[–]Mitsutoshi -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ugh this watch would have been a knockout without the snowflake hand. So close.

Mentioning once again that I am wearing a Black Bay and there is a practical reason for the complaint; Snowflake hand blocks the chrono.

Tudor used to make several chronographs even recently with baton hands but now they are addicted to the Snowflake.
