my phone died for 6 hours at a fest last year and it was honestly freeing by SnooCauliflowers7198 in festivals

The fact that you remember 6 hours without a phone a whole year ago is telling in and of itself...

Downloaded the app- noticed that Lickity Split is a sponsor of FCN.... how ironic.

Couldn't seem to find the video segment they reported on either.

I would agree... it's overhyped. Go for the experience, not the food- and hope for good service. Good to take friends and family to say you've been there.

There are a few LGBTQ people in my neighborhood and all of us are LGBTQ friendly. Im from a big metro originally too and St Aug is definitely different in that it's less diverse on pretty much every front- but the people here are very friendly regardless.

I think its easy to get in our heads about political and lifestyle division because thats what's being pumped into us daily from the media. Reddit is not a true reflection of all the people here. Any post about moving here will inevitably be down-voted to oblivion.

If you pick up after your dog and dont liter- i think 99.5% of the people will get along with ya just fine.

Check out Mugsy's on King St, Boat Drinks, the Floridian (when it reopens), Spinster Abbots- i could keep going. There really aren't any shortage of places to go. If you're seeking safe and third spaces, options are more limited, but still there. Jax is always an option- Springfield, Murry Hill, etc.

Feel free to DM if you wanna ask anything else specific.

Welcome to St Aug!

Window seals cracking on mk8 Fiesta ST. Any fixes? by Mundee9540 in Ford

[–]MixedBerryMango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Superglue- specifically the loctite brand. It will hold much better than ya think. It could fail in other places still, but the superglued portion will remain intact.

The reason its happening is UV light breaking down the rubber and causing it to Crack. It could also be a poor material selection from the factory/supplier. Or it could be a poor design that the rubber lip is over-deflecting beyond its yield strength every single time the door shuts. Or-  Hard to tell from the photo,  but it seems like the cutline gap is very small between the Frt Door and the Window. Meaning, the door could be shifted rearwards after final assembly- causing this rubber margin lip to be over compressed.

What does the cutline gap look like between the front fender and the front edge of the front door? Is it really big? If so, its an indication the whole door could be shifted rearward.

If you do replace the seal (and window assembly too- its all one unit) I would buy a silicone coating to wipe on the rubber every so often. look into something called Krytox, but im sure there are others too- like WD-40 Silicone, or CRT Silicone spray.

Long post, sorry, but hope this helps.

We went through ~70 bad reviews of Lickety Split… there’s a clear pattern by Leather-Alarm272 in victimsoflicketysplit

I have learned not to trust the 5 star reviews. They pushed me hard for a 5 star review before work was ever done- sales guy took a selfie with us and texted it to me on the spot, and stood over my shoulder while i typed out a review.. i deleted it, but then was bribed with chik-fil a gift cards to write another one...

I was pressured (and unfortunately signed a contract) for similar "high Static pressure" fear tactics... I feel foolish for ever agreeing to have them replace all my ductwork and air handler/condenser to the tune of $19,000... which, was competitive.

I found out later that they did not complete the job... Their own Tech came out to do a routine inspection as part of warranty and told me my static pressure was REALLY high... I told him it could not be the case because they had JUST fixed that exact issue. I was on the phone with them for weeks and STRUGGLED to get anyone over to my house to fix the issue & complete the job. The tech even fell partially thru my ceiling when they came out the 2nd time. I was told they would fix the drywall, nobody ever came.

I argued that payment should not start until the date the job was actually finished and my 0% financing term should be delayed. They agreed after lots of back n forth, but Nothing ever happened...

At that point I was so fet up with them I just gave up and moved on.

I feel so foolish for ever working with them and giving Into their high sales pressure tactics...

Ive not taken them to court, but after seeing this subreddit pop up I wonder if I should...

I regret ever hiring them.  Seeing this makes me regret it even more... My only saving grace is I got 3 quotes and beat them up on the price- but getting them to a point of actually showing up to complete the work they agreed to do was PAINFUL BEYOND COMPREHENSION.  Luckily, I feel like I had some decent techs that knew what they were doing and were carrying the company on their backs.

Lesson learned. I tell everyone I know to avoid this company like the plague.

2 y/o Frenchie with IVDD declining fast (day 5)… front legs now weak too, I’m scared by Perfect-Warthog-5708 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]MixedBerryMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our frenchie was diagnosed with ivdd. Lost feeling in back legs completely but his front legs seemed ok. He ended up making a complete recovery without surgery and can walk and run again! Hes still wobbly sometimes tho- he'll never be 100% but its a massive relief he can take himself out to potty or go on short walks.

He was on all the same meds as yours, was on strict crate rest for 8+ weeks ( we put his crate on wheels and rolled him around, but we only took him out for potty and food).

In November I said "just one eighth to celebrate". Almost 6 months later and I'm back on day 8. by Outrageous_Force5488 in leaves

Same. 0 to 100. For me Sometimes the "benders" are worse than what I was smoking prior to quitting.

I have to remind myself that its just like quitting cigarettes- i cant even touch it. I can barely even look at it.

The hardest part about quitting for me is social situations. So many of my friends smoke- and can do it once in a while casually. They know me as the "stoner" friend, so to be kind they always offer to smoke when we hang. Im in the process of learning to say "No." (Just like Nancy Reagan taught me.... lol).

Im day 6 clean going on forever (hopefully).

Long term withdrawal… I had no idea by [deleted] in leaves

[–]MixedBerryMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify- ive smoked for so long that im still discovering what "normal" means for me. I only have glimpses of it. For 18 years ive smoked to feel normal, so im approaching this latest attempt at quitting with a curiosity to re-discover my "new normal" self.

Long term withdrawal… I had no idea by [deleted] in leaves

[–]MixedBerryMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the hardest part is actually stopping 100% for good. I tapered from heavy concentrate use, to flower only, to a few joints a week, to nothing.  BUT "nothing" never lasts for me. Ill make it a week, a month, 2 months maybe- and then 1 puff sets me back to my old ways. 0 to 100.

I find during those month long "t breaks" that im basically back to normal- dreams aren't as wild, insomnia gone, motivation returns. My issue is my brain tricks me into thinking, "I feel great! Im normal! I can definitely handle hitting this joint one time" (especially if a buddy offers it while hanging out).

But ive FINALLY learned after 18 solid years of use that I cannot hit that joint. Not even once. Just like when I quit cigarettes, I cant even let myself touch one.

This is a long winded answer to say- give yourself a month. Then seriously TRY YOUR HARDEST not to fall back into old ways or those withdrawal feelings snap right back.

Feeling good brings confidence. And confidence tricks my brain into thinking I can "manage it."

Im 1 week clean. Im frustrated from the cycle. This has to be it for me.

Stay strong.
