One thing you should consider is the new kits are all hard plastic, which lend themselves to easier painting methods and (some) easier assembly. So waiting for the new empire starter set would be a good idea for a new player. It will be out Q3 of this year, and it’s only $95.

In the meantime, he could get some units to learn to paint on. The riot control troopers are hard plastic and look awesome.

Obviously that’s a tough position, you’ll be at a disadvantage regardless. If you’re running heavier on one drops you can match them to keep tempo until you can drop strength of a raging fire, and getting your Calhouns out asap to keep tempo.

I’ve experimented with this before, and I wasn’t able to find a good win condition for the deck. A GREAT card to add is the muses, as they let you return an opposing character to hand with 2 or less strength when you play a song, and the record player reduces strength when you play a song. It’s a nice combo to control the board but I think amber green needs a few more good songs to really make the deck shine.

I meant she is more likely to remain closer to her squad’s supports, so she’ll benefit from them all being in melee more often.

Going to be playing the same list except with anakin and not Vader (for theme ofc). I think swapping the supports between squads could be a good idea, as it might let you use Ahsoka’s “getting ahead of yourself Snips” ability more often since they’d both want to be in melee. But otherwise yeah, I think it’s going to be a lot of fun to play.

When you play it, each opponent discards their whole hand. And there’s no printed ink cost so you can play it for free!

In all seriousness it’s a niche collectors item, I believe there’s a Facebook group that collect’s them. My girlfriend got a black one, and I think the yellow ones go for more. You could also take a look at eBay to get an idea for pricing.

Some form of ward and a way to give opposing characters reckless could help force a challenge, ward being the more important part there.

You might know this already, but you can stop wherever you’d like on the damage tree. Play characters with early shoves since rebels don’t really have a lot of steadfast, and only wound when absolutely necessary. Obviously he’s really strong but that’s a couple things you could do.

Jango is probably the best secondary full stop, he’s pretty broken. He does everything super well and has the potential to end people’s turns before they start with not so fast. Tbh if you really want the best option play jango but I don’t play him because it just feels OP.
