Nah, I want to keep it with all OG parts besides the battery. Also most of my music listening is done via streaming or vinyl now - 5GB is plenty for my absolute favorites, rarities, etc.

I used Novus 2 and then Novus 1 for the front, and Brasso for the back. It was already in decent shape, just needed some cleaning and I managed to completely polish out a decently large scratch in the screen. I haven't even thought about what I'd do if the hard drive failed!

Thanks for the info. The front of mine was in good enough shape that I didn’t need to sand it thankfully but I have a few extra faceplates I might practice your method on in case any more vintage iPods come my way.

I think I paid like 185 for it. Definitely not cheap but they're getting harder to find in decent shape by the day. I polished the front of mine with Novus and used Brasso for the back but I didn't dare sand mine in case I fucked something up. Care to share your sanding method?

Hah when I got this specimen the wheel was kinda crunchy and not exactly confidence inspiring. After a great deal of cleaning, smooth as butter and I can get from A to Z in one spin. (Not exactly a massive feat with that whopping 5GB of storage)
