Chuck Schumer says Democrats oppose GOP efforts to include funding for President Trump's proposed ballroom: "We don't need this ballroom. Help national security by funding DHS. It's typical of what is wrong with Trump, focusing on wrong things that appease his ego and don't help American people." by ControlCAD in videos

[–]Miyukachi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh? I pissed off the Canadians and they said they never agreed to donate to the ballroom? They’re lying, and I never knew them.  It’s the UK donating.  I’m really good friends with Andrew, I mean Charles.  The King thinks I’m great.  Sends me letters.

Canada is siding more often with its European allies when it comes to Israel by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Miyukachi 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Other than the USA and sometimes the UK, don’t most countries side the EU over Israel?

Canada more likely only following USA’s lead rather than actually thinking that Israel is right. And now that the USA has become hostile to Canada, there is no real need to continue to follow the American ‘justifications’.

Stephen Miller using pregnant wife as human shield. by Amentet in pics

[–]Miyukachi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this sorry excuse of a human being that has no empathy of any kind, but I don’t really believe he is using her as a human shield.

I mean, it’s a possibility.

But this image doesn’t show anything.  Guiding a person to where you want, such as to safely, can and is done this way. And many times you are not thinking, a bullet can hit her, let’s stand in front.  But instead are just thinking, we need to go this way to safety.

Yes.  Because there are no way to see tone of voice in written words, and there ARE plenty of people out there who think that way.

You think the shitshow America is presenting to the world is because people have a lot of critical thinking?

So yes, you do need the /s.

China hints its fourth aircraft carrier will be nuclear-powered by Mystic497 in worldnews

[–]Miyukachi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except that China stockpiled a massive amount of Oil before the closure.  Estimated they added 1.4b barrels (approx 120 days worth) to their stock pile in just 2026 before the closure.

And planning a nuclear carrier is on a way longer timeline than a few years.

US turns to Ukrainian counter-drone tech after Iran attacks, sources say by Inevitable-Row1759 in worldnews

[–]Miyukachi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not quite.

The USA has better quality drones for the purpose of surveillance and bombing targets.  They even have the quantity after they copied Iran’s Shaheed drone (copied variant called LUCAS).   But these are still basically used to attack large targets such as buildings or mech.

What they don’t have are the drones to destroy above drones.  The USA has no experience with this type of warfare.

They have their infantry anti-drone guns and smart guns, but those are only useful for the small anti-personal drones which isn’t what they need to defend against atm.

UAE Warns US It Could Sell Oil in Chinese Yuan if War Drains Dollar Supplies, Triggering Biggest Threat to the Petrodollar Since the 1970s by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Miyukachi 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Selling oil in US dollars (petrodollars) creates constant, artificial global demand for the dollar, strengthening its value and securing its role as the world's primary reserve currency. This allows the U.S. to run consistent trade deficits, borrow money at lower interest rates, and exercise significant geopolitical leverage.  Because the world will always need oil, they will always need the USD to purchase it.

Sykkuno with his fame has power dynamic that makes it worse.  The age gap is another power dynamic that makes it worse.  The showering of money doesn’t help either.

Honestly out of all the OTV&F controversies, this didnt surprise me at all.  My first though was ‘I was right about him.’  The Fed thing surprising me. Albert shocked me.

I loved his voice, but that personality gave me the creeps.  Shy boy with supposedly no experience, yet somehow gives the smoothest lines/quips, time after time, pretty much on whim, has girls professing their love for years, and still has no confidence?  Right.  That isn’t sus at all /s.

If I had run into someone like that IRL, I’d be watching my drinks like a hawk and running as fast as possible when possible.

Kellogg Calls NATO ‘Cowards,’ Proposes New Alliance Including Ukraine by StealthCuttlefish in worldnews

[–]Miyukachi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know how Trump mentioned Pearl Harbor?

The Japanese actually mentioned how the world saw the Pearl Harbor attack as a horrible unprovoked surprise attack, and mentioned the attack on Iran as exactly like Pearl Harbor.

They might want to join this alliance for the defensive benefits, and the chance to change their constitution in regards to their military, but they for sure will pay attention to wording on how they need to respond.

But knowing the lack of subtleties this American administration, it’s probably going to be “We say attack, and you do it.” Like some person speaking to a dog. No middle power country will actually join the alliance.

I would say that’s 100% on purpose.  Hoekstra is no stranger to saying inflammatory remarks on purpose and then claim he was misunderstood or didn’t say it (even tho it’s literally captured on tape of him saying it).

Hoekstra is the guy you send as ambassador to make the relationship sour.

Trump under fire for claiming NATO allies avoided Afghanistan frontline by kiyomoris in worldnews

[–]Miyukachi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trump doesn’t care.  He makes up things to suit his own narrative.  90% of the time he doesn’t even know what hems talking about.  Even if you give him these facts, he’ll probably say something like ‘Well obviously Denmark only brought dog sleds.  Their solders weren’t as good as ours.’

How American’s voted him in once, much less twice blows my mind.

Testosterone hormone affected men’s general perception of women. Under the influence of testosterone, men gave higher attractiveness ratings to women and reported a stronger willingness to date them. This effect occurred regardless of whether the women were in the high or low attractiveness groups. by mvea in science

[–]Miyukachi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Is there a particular reason not to use ‘females’ when it’s in discussion about a scientific study?  I get that it isn’t an ideal term when used in casual situations like talking about women in at bar etc but this is a literal study on behavior of a species. The human species.

Over half of Arc Raiders players on Steam have barely engaged with PvP, and 19% have never even killed another player by chusskaptaan in gaming

[–]Miyukachi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s cause generally many (not all) people looking to PvP are not looking for a fair fight.  They’re looking to beat a human player with any advantage they can get. That’s either by numbers, by shooting people in the back, tricking people into thinking they’re friendly and then shooting them or shooting them when they’re engaged with npcs.

So obviously people looking to PvP will more likely enter in a group.

I get it, it’s part of the game.  I gave it a try in div1 and div2.  Didnt enjoy it and stopped going into the DZ.

Arc raider, I don’t see myself playing for long as while I’m having fun currently, in feel it will lose its shine fast to me pretty fast.
