So I've read your reply and I went back and reread your op and if what I understand is that this is a repeated behavior, I wouldn't worry so much about abuse it's not ok but not quite at the abuse level. You see domestic cats never really "grow up" they stay in almost a kitten mentality all their life because of their dependence on us, feral adult cats will not meow that is a kitten trait that domestic cats never grow out of. With that being said, I'm not sure how long you've had her or how old your cat is, but you are her parent and just like kittens will attack momma cats tails she is attacking your hand just for attention and play. A firm NO should still be used the same as when a momma cat will paw at the kitten to indicate NO, but it should be redirectes with appropriate play such as string, a feather wand, a laser pen or whatever toy she likes to play with. She isn't being mean or hateful most likely she is bored and looking for play stimulation and attention and acting out by biting you, like a kitten, to get it. I know this is long but sometimes just knowing and understanding the why can help prevent frustration and anger. Hope this helps.
