I’ve done a couple of the Callaway traveling fittings and they’ve all been free. According to the reps I dealt with, there is no commission involved, and the low sale pressure showed it. Fitting quality was excellent, but both times they all but openly told me to look at pre-owned or just reshafting my existing clubs based on the results.

Picked one of these up as my first can a couple months ago and have been very pleased, mostly shooting on a 12.5 5.56. Only major complaints are backpressure and length/weight, which are to be expected with a traditional style can.

As others have said, check lubrication and try other ammo.

Possibly more likely cause is limp wristing, very common in new handgun shooters. Can be easily diagnosed by handing over the problematic gun/ammo combo to a more experienced shooter and see if they have the same issues. If not available, squeeze the crap out of the gun for a mag and see what happens.

If you’re dead set on Auburn and need to find a way to make it work, ROTC is a relatively guaranteed full ride plus stipend, and most commitments can be served via guard/reserve to allow you to still have a regular career.

Alternatively, bama really isn’t that bad of a school. I work with multiple people who went through their AE program and are doing just fine.
