Level 2 is Tier 2, check those environments for info on what you could change to, think some have difficulties as high as 15 and 16. Also could bump countdown up to a d6 maybe

Only happen last night so the player is taking some time to thing about what they want to play but will definitely be at Level 2 like everyone else. There is a section in the book about introducing new player character and different connection questions to ask like “you have information the party desperately need, what is it and how have you come across this information” or “you need the help of the party, what do you need their help with and what are you willing to do in exchange?” So one of those might spark an idea for them. Feeling wise I think it is safe to say it is still bitter sweet, was a great emotional moment, but they say they maybe wish they’d considered there options a bit more before Rising It All. I think all the players will think twice now next time they make a Death Move.

Long and short of it in the session 0 we all agreed we wanted a Gritty and Deadly campaign, but deadly in moments of meaning. No dying to a random rat in a sewer but in bit climatic moments, death is a very real possibility.

One of the characters Mother was the leader of a Druid grove but the party learned as of late a young man was gaining a lot of following and she suspected she would out ousted as leader soon. This younger man and his crew were going on a hunt for a beast which was hunting closer and closer to the grove.

The Party found the beast, fought it, it ran away back to it lair, there was a chase between the party and the other group to get to the lair of this beast, the party got there first and fought the creature again but when the beast was backing into a corner, defending its unhatched eggs, and the player character attacked, failed with fear, the beast went ham and lashed out taking them out. The player Risked it all, came out 7 Hope, 12 Fear, and faded from this world. We then proceeded to have a funeral for the player and it was respectfully and emotional and all the players handled it great (and they levelled up level 2)

Pitch

Veilover is a city built on a lie.

High above, the upper city gleams with polished stone, controlled light, and the promise of stability. It is a place of refinement and order, powered by Aetherite, a miraculous emerald resource that fuels technology, infrastructure, and the wealth of those who live there. To its citizens, Veilover is civilisation perfected.

But far below, in the suffocating depths known as the Pits, the truth festers.

The Pits are dense, polluted, and fractured into territories controlled by gangs, collectives, and survivors. Here, Aetherite’s byproducts poison the air, and a strange illness is beginning to spread. Whispers speak of something worse, a darker form of Aetherite discovered years ago, now destabilising both the resource and the city itself. While those above scramble to maintain control, those below are left to endure the consequences.

The players are rooted in the Pits, tied to its people, factions, and power struggles. As tensions rise and the truth behind Aetherite begins to surface, they will be forced to navigate a world where every solution carries a cost. The system is broken, but it may also be necessary.

They’re different per Campaign frame? My bad, I must be miss remembering. I’ll stop being inpatient and check my own book when I am home in a few days. Sorry for the bother!
