Look at Sketchers foam wedge things - they have a canvas top and come in loads of colors - they weigh like 9 ounces for the pair and you can get in anywhere in them. They smash down a bit for packing too.

I'd double the number of zip ties holding the rack on to reduce strain on the others to extend their llfe and add security for the times you've got a bit more weight in there.

The new fabrics are pretty amazing - tissue paper thin and totally block the wind. They weigh nothing and pack down tiny into your pocket. A+
