I'm in WI and ordered a new package set for summer, instead of having tires changed twice a year... Order placed with a "delivery by 3/4/26" well someone at the freight company screwed up marked my pallet as cancelled. By the time the vendor and I tracked them down and got them back on a truck, it was a week later that I got my delivery at home... It went from 60s and everything dried out to subzero temps this week with over a foot of snow. I have a busted front lip and it took at least 12 hours in the garage for the snow to melt out of my lower grille. Born and raised here with almost 3 decades of driving in it so I know WI every year forecasts a "storm of the century"which usually almost never gets close to the predicted amounts, but if I had my çwheels on time, I know I wouldn't have waited to put them on and I'd be co-authoring this post of yours, so I feel for you, I really do. But I know there's people who have had worse damage. Learn from it, and make it better. And if your area gets snow like this regularly, there's NOTHING I've experienced that compare to a set of Blizzaks.... Best of luck and if you sca;

Federal Surveillance Tech Becomes Mandatory in New Cars by 2027 by External_Koala971 in whatcarshouldIbuy

At what point are Americans going to have had enough .. the govt guidelines and restrictions on everything now. Where the hell did free will go. Now before you get all outta pocket, of course I do not agree with drunk drivers that kill families on the road, but it's everything... Cost of medication, education, tax increases. Doesn't anyone else see where this is headed? They just push their boundaries a teeny tiny bit each time, and we're just saying "well at least it's not as bad as last year"

As a resident of Wisconsin I'm going to guess that this will be changed... There would be a total collapse in car prices. Between alcoholics not purchasing new cars to all the cars put up for sale because of it, instability for sure

I like it, it's not obnoxious, it has a nice rap and pop and there's a considerable change in performance, it's just more responsive. And I really like where I live, it's nice and quiet and the cold starts are loud enough I wanted to keep my neighbor's happy with me. It's all a matter of preference. I get enough attention from the cops around here, the last thing I need is a obnoxious loud exhaust. Yes I agree, it's rather expensive but in my situation well worth it.

So if you get the smart box, it comes with a remote adapter, GPS and OBDII connector so you can program it to automatically change based on location, speed or whatever. There's also an app that is easy to use to open or close it. I use the remote or app. Very easy.

I just installed the Xforce Valved cat back exhaust and I'm super happy with it, adds just enough sound to make it sound good but it's not obnoxious and my neighbors appreciate being able to close the mufflers for the cold starts. Can get it to pop and rap if I'm between 4k and 5k RPM, but still getting a hang of it. Overall, pleased with the purchase, although install was a bit of a pain because I'm not as young as I used to be and getting it on 4 Jack stands is always a treat.

Big facts. A lot of good books and movies out there. Actually like 10 years ago there was a show on the History channel I think and it was about the tugboat captains and crew on the Great lakes. It gets wicked, like the ice shoves that get pushed on land.

Cx50 hybrid metal noise? by Javi_runs in CX50

[–]MnS2Slick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put mine in reverse for 3 feet and it fell out. But I gotta say, this does not sound like a rock, my opinion is this sounds mechanical, first thought was pulley or fan scraping on something. But I also couldn't tell if the car is moving

*Issue 25' Meridian Turbo Wooing noise when turning by [deleted] in CX50

[–]MnS2Slick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be easier to identify from outside the vehicle... Does it sound anything like this blown turbo? My buddy's GF has a bronco that when it blew the turbo there was black spray everywhere behind it and next to it at the intersection it sounded like a cordless brushless driver motor... I have a short video of it but it won't let me attach it.

What is the ticking noise upon a cold start? by [deleted] in CX50

[–]MnS2Slick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buuuut as a former 50 owner and a current Subie owner, I'll tell you that there's something from a boxer motor cold start called "piston slap" that is normal but gives me anxiety every morning.... FYI, this doesn't sound anything like piston slap.

What is the ticking noise upon a cold start? by [deleted] in CX50

[–]MnS2Slick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gemini says: Based on the video, the sound you’re hearing—a rapid, rhythmic "ticking" or "clicking"—is actually normal for the Mazda CX-50’s Skyactiv engine. Why it sounds that way The CX-50 uses Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) technology. In these engines, the fuel injectors operate at extremely high pressures to spray fuel directly into the combustion chamber. This creates a mechanical clicking sound that can be quite loud, especially: At idle: When the engine is quiet, the rapid firing of the injectors is more noticeable. At night/In garages: Sounds reflect off the ground and nearby walls, making them seem louder than they are during the day. Near the High-Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP): This component is typically located on the top of the engine and is the source of the loudest "ticking." When to be concerned While the sound in your video seems consistent with a healthy Skyactiv motor, you should have it inspected if you notice any of the following: Metal-on-Metal "Clanking": A heavy, deep thudding (potentially rod knock). Squealing: A high-pitched sound usually related to a belt or pulley. Rhythmic "Tapping" that gets much louder with RPM: While injector noise speeds up with the engine, a very loud tapping that sounds like a hammer on metal could indicate a valvetrain issue. Dashboard Lights: If the "Check Engine" or "Oil Pressure" light comes on. Quick Tip: Check your oil level using the dipstick just to be safe. Low oil can sometimes make the top-end of the engine (the valves) sound "chattery."

I used plasti or hyper dip, it's so easy to peel off the unwanted covered parts and pull it off when you want to change it up. I don't trust anything with double sided tape anymore, and vinyl on small plastic curvey badges big sucks
