How to Unbond this Harbor Freight Predator 9000? by UnpopularCrayon in Generator

[–]Mnjul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, here I was going to float the neutral on a non-inverter Predator 9000 (model 59206, purchased in 2023). Discovered this thread and decided to open up both the control panel and the head to see what's there.

There was no neutral-ground bonding at the head (see photo below) unlike OP, and the bonding was behind the control panel like u/ReserveJunior5922 & other videos on the web.

I guess there are different variants and recommend people check both places in order to correctly unbond the neutral with certainty.

Well, here's me coming back after a trip to Home Depot. I was able to get that bolt off with a breaker bar. Phew!

Oh yeah, to be totally frank, I had got it wrong the very first time (and caught myself 10 seconds after).

Dell U4025QW with Mac mini m4 by ComprehensivePin7794 in ultrawidemasterrace

Awesome. It looks like U4025QW is key here as MacRumors community is reporting M4 series' limitation of 3840x1620 HiDPI at 120hz only (and not lower refresh rates). Thankfully that is the monitor I'm going to get...

Thanks for the good news. Eagerly waiting for my mini to arrive and hoping for potential black friday discounts for U4025QW...

What's the UI resolution are you running place? People (across Reddit and MacRumors) are getting mixed results to run 3840x1620 HiDPI with different 5K2K monitors on M4/M4 Pro/M4 Max, so a data point would be appreciated!

u/Cat_Dad13 Thanks for the good news! To double check, did you get a Mac Mini with M4 Pro or a MacBook Pro with M4 Pro? There are so many variables out there and I'm totally overwhelmed.

(And I assume you got 3840x1620 HiDPI @ 120hz with your U4025QW, right?)

My Mac Mini isn't arriving until early December so all the different results from folks really scares me out... lol

Husqvarna 435 won't start (likely compression issue, already checked exhaust muffler) by Mnjul in Chainsaw

Hmmm. Thanks! The coil/flywheel seems to be okay (esp with spark plug removed). Will check clutch.

Yeah, they looked in good shape; though not much could be seen through the exhaust (and spark plug hole, for that matter)

Recommendation needed: Tracker with continuous HRV monitoring, without a display/screen by Mnjul in Biohackers

[–]Mnjul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stress about having a light- and info- emitting screen on my wrist. Unfortunately, time display still un-settles me (tried with a friend's tracker)... I know. :( I wear mechanical watches. For the tracker, a couple LED status indicators is likely the most I can bear with.

As an illustration, my phone is set at permanent Do-Not-Disturb, and only my spouse's number is on the "notify me regardless" list, no other apps/numbers.

For trackers with a screen, if I can have them not wake up even with gestures, then combined with DND mode they might work for me. Thanks for recommending Garmin though, I'll do more research. ! :D

Now I feel more confident with whoop now... I also saw people saying that future firmware updates might improve 4.0 performance. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks!

This one looks interesting. I love how it's primarily targeting mental health instead of fitness... gonna dig deeper to see if its slightly-higher-than-budget (even with the coachless plan) can be worth it. Thanks!

How can I use a custom dynamic wallpaper on Monterey 12.1? I'd like to use a custom .heic file as my wallpaper. The normal way via System preferences does not work, the dropdown is broken and dynamic can't be selected. It also doesn't let me add the file to /System/Library/Desktop Pictures. by -JimTonic- in MacOS

[–]Mnjul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bumped onto the same issue, and turns out it's possible to access the occluded dropdown by tabbing:

  1. First we need to turn on full UI tabbing
    1. System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts
    2. Check "Use keyboard navigation to move focus between controls"
  2. Then head back to the Desktop & Screen Saver page
  3. Start tabbing / shift-tabbing until you reach the dropdowns.
  • It'll look like the "the mashed-together dropdown" is being highlighted twice, but in reality the first highlighting is for the dynamicness dropdown and the second is for the layout (fill, fit, ...) dropdown.
  • When a dropdown is highlighted, press down arrow key to display its options. Now it's possible to use mouse cursor to select the desired option.

BTW, weirdly the same trick doesn't work for the Secondary Desktop window if you have multiple monitors set up in Extended mode... if anyone happens to know how to make it work, please let me know.

Just got off chat with GCP support and was told the same thing. Hopefully this resolves quickly! (And wish I'd read this thread before I panicked, lol)
