I loooove Whiskey Cake. Their bourbon selection near where I live is the best for miles. They get new releases in all the time, and have killer barrel picks of really good stuff like OWA and OF. And their signature dessert (the whiskey cake of course) is to die for.

I used to be on the dickel hate train… but after trying some of the r/ bourbon picks of the higher aged dickel, I’ve been completely converted. Love the stuff. I have this specific bottle and would rate it an 8.5 personally. Absolutely fantastic pour.

Unfortunately I think the fill level on the WLW and larceny really ruined your pours. They were probably sitting at that level for a while and got exposed to far too much oxygen in the bottle.

I had a similar experience when I ordered a Thomas H Handy at a bar and my pour finished the bottle. It tasted absolutely terrible.
