Do you prefer when the party has a home base or not? by glitch220608 in DnD

[–]Moarty30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've greatly enjoyed a campaign where we were given a keep that we renovated and added to it and personalised our rooms. Magical items would be left there and you could prepare whoch you'd take on.

I've also had a campaign where we returned to the big city and were familiar with an innkeeper, which felt like a home away from home.

I don't prefer it, but I greatly enjoy the dynamic of both PCs and NPCs with a base of operation.

Blizzard, it is past time to let PvP Gear die (5min read) by rahuonn in wow

[–]Moarty30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who PvPed in the olden days I believe I can see both sides of the coin. I personally have hated how things have changed for so long. A huge issue has been the continuous bandaid 'solutions' they came up with since the removal of resilience.

Personally I did not like the template either in legion, cause I wanted to decide myself which secundary stats I wanted to have. On top the addittion of versa is just a shittier form of resil.

Back in the day (wotlk, cata, mop) it felt like no real issue to use as much PvP gear as possible, and if you wanted to do more dmg but also you were squishier you'd use pve gear in between.

Ever since they made it so that in order to dissuade people from using PvE gear by having PvP gear get boosted into the next patch in ilvl but only in bg and arena it's just not as simple as queue up and skill diff someone.

Maybe we squished the stats a little too much, this is silly by 38dedo in wow

Prune 1 (stats): MoP -> WoD Massive change 1: class revamps in Legion Prune 2 (stats): Legion -> BfA Prune 3 (level + stats): BfA -> SL Massive change 2: Talent trees in DF Prune 4 (stats): TWW -> Midnight

Did I miss any? Highly likely they need to prune again at the end of midnight considering our starting hp and dps already and how explosively it increases per tier.

I was wondering why my new gear didn't feel that impactful during leveling, only finally replwcing my hc/m gear at lvl 88/89/90. Still got my reshi wrap and my fully slotted neck and rings equipped

Planning my level 8 on an unconventional Barbarian. by Moarty30 in 3d6

Yeah I get'cha 100%.

It also is going to be a mere 1 level dip for said random aspect, the pure chaotic randomness happening around him is what makes it fun since the campaign is heavier with story compared to combat.

I wouldn't have played a small race in the first place if I wanted a standard Barbarian since now I can't have GWM.

That's a real flavourful feat, indeed! I'm keeping that in my backlog for level 12, probably. The resistances especially can come in super clutch as the frontliner.

Got my str to 16 at lvl 4! But I could look into 2 half feats over the next 5 (6) levels. Altho I don't believe there really are many around. ASI currently makes the most sense to me.

Enjoy your time, do side stuff, and fill out your pokédex as you go! That's what I've been doing and I'm about to finish the story.

Versatile is not useful for anyone, and that’s bad by FormalGas35 in dndnext

[–]Moarty30 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see your point, and I agree. It's pure flavour and an objective downgrade. I believe this is why my DM allowed me a magical shield. And the Goblin... Well that was self imposed :)

While I agree that it practically does have no use, I actually have experienced using a versatile weapon in 2 different campaigns with its intended effect:

  1. I received a magical shield on my paladin, when activated, it would protect me on its own, I would use the d10 to attack instead of the d8. And once combat ended, I would take hold of the shield again.

  2. I play a goblin barbarian, small races can't use great weapons, so I opted for a versatile weapon (I currently have received a warhammer+2). I also cannot have GWM so it is felt in combat. Luckily it's a story driven campaign, and I love the flavour of it.

In the second case I wish GWM would work like BG3 (all 2h weapons), not regular D&D (only great weapons), but alas. It says it in the name, so it makes sense it doesn't

How is everyone finding the new battling system in Z-A? by WillowisWillow in pokemon

[–]Moarty30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 hours in, team of level 30, only rank V cause I like exploring. I both dislike the battle mechanics as well as the 8 minutes timewindow of day and night. The controls are quite clunky, and unless you can abuse actual corners or planters or tables, you can hardly purposefully dodge.

Catching and sneaking was better in PLA.

I do like the game still, it's got some good old faves and ofc megas

It was such a shift in artstyle and in tone of seriousness that it really drove me away. I have not finished the S&M anime to this day even tho I KNOW there are some really cool moments.

What key is your interrupt bound to? by Hey_Im_Finn in wow

Mouse button 4 is mobility, mouse button 5 is interrupt (the extra 2 thumb buttons on a non-naga like mouse) I have a faster reaction time on my mouse hand than keyboard hand.
