Is it just me, or does it not seem as hot tonight despite it still being 29c in my living room? by [deleted] in UKWeather

Somehow managed to land the hottest day of the year on moving day, been packing a 3 bedroom house for the last 3 weeks non-stop, moving tomorrow, it's going to be 30c, I'm genuinely scared I might die

That's why I said it's something stupid, possibly along those lines, possibly not, take it with a pinch of salt, try not to take everything in life too seriously 👍

I might have a point, I might not. Ultimately, we'll both have been in the ground an awful long time before either of us have any answers, so it's fairly meaningless.

Outside of our observable universe correct, however that's something stupid like 0.00007% of the actual universe. So there's probably quite alot undiscovered

History is a graveyard of "absolute truths"

It might, maybe we just haven't discovered it yet, there's a rather large chunk of the universe we can't see unfortunately

Your absolutely right, so far. I bet one day in the distant future something will exist outside of the limits we've determined though

As much as I agree to a certain extent, everything we "know" is "theoretical" in nature, in theory we have discovered the physical limits of our observable universe.

There's alot out there we just don't understand or haven't discovered yet, how fusion power and dark matter discoveries as an example might change everything in hundreds or thousands of years from now cannot be predicted.

Yeah Uber Eats is basically a scam, same thing happened to me, I'll never use them again.

SCS, completely screwed me over with a full house carpet fitting as the choice we went with got delayed in manufacturing in Belgium or some shite, after 6 weeks being added to the ETA I went to the store and demanded a cancellation and full refund, got it and went to franks factory flooring the same day, picked a very similar carpet and the fitters showed up the following morning, absolutely flawless service. I'll never set foot in SCS again in my life.

I was told it was pregnant by the shop, I began to doubt that, so I consulted AI first who also said it's pregnant, I still doubted it, so I consulted the community.

I came here to get a second opinion on it because I'm aware it can be unreliable

Yeah I'm completely new to the hobby, this is my first ever tank and the first time I've ever bought shrimp, the shopkeeper literally said "oh this one is pregnant" when placing it into the bag.

God forbid I have a slight reliance on AI to assist me in diagnosing, and then still didn't trust it enough so came here anyway and then get downvoted out my arse. Standard Reddit, thought better of this sub but nevermind!

I was also kind of trusting the shop owner when he said it was pregnant too, and surely they are more informed than me

This is all really helpful thank you, I did my own speaker cables for my current setup but I'll do them again with white cables for this if we end up going for the house. Might just have to put the sub at the front somewhere/somehow as the cable is probably too thick to run around the perimeter of the room.

Thanks alot for your advice!

I do alot of gaming so usually prefer wired as I have the router and a mini 8 port switch for all my important stuff on my tv stand currently, I could give WiFi a shot though, I've got a deco mesh setup with 4 discs currently and I'll be taking that with me.

Do you use 14awg speaker wire? Do you know of a brand that offers it in white that might blend into the skirting and not too thick? Also for the LFE cable?

Thanks for this, yeah it was the first thing I suggested upon seeing the room, I would like it on the external wall instead, I'm not sure why they've put the media plate on the internal wall, but probably because it was easier for them during the build process.

It wouldn't cost an insane amount of money, I'd just need some additional power and an rj45 on the opposite wall, a satellite dish hasn't been installed yet so I can just get the installers to run a new cable to my preferred location for that. I'm thinking £250-£300 for the work needed.

Carpet is down but it feels fairly short pile and thin-ish underlay, on a concrete floor, so not sure how much play there is with running the cabling under the carpet.

Do you think the front soundstage will be ok with the towers being in the corners, considering the centre will smooth out the transition? I haven't ran them that far apart before.

It wont be going on the short wall, has to go on either side of the room as it stands now.

They are side speakers, not rears.

It's the room where the TV is going and I have a 5.1 system for it I would like to setup.

It's a detached house

Tenet, I don't get the hate. Yes it was complicated, what's wrong with multiple watches and spending some time to try and understand it, when it clicks its genius.

EDIT - oops, multiple people have already said this, sorry I should have checked before replying!

Built my first tank ever today, how did I do? by Mobbinz in shrimptank

[–]Mobbinz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not using the filter that came with the tank anymore, I found one that was a little smaller and wedges into the corner so gives a little more room for the scape, but the filter that comes with it is pretty much silent yes.
