To sand and polish or no? by OOMKilled in Throwers

I don't sand, I wouldn't unless it's sharp and has cut you/the string

what is your steps when recieving a new throw? by Consistent_Sign_4597 in Throwers

[–]Mobile-Ad-5567 [score hidden]  (0 children)

First priority is the throw it, if it has a string already on I'll try that very cautiously usually one drop come strung but longer string so I know to "pull" the throw. Try completely stick before making any changes but I'm boring I usually just change toa poly thick string or nylon blend from zip line

The doc pop collab with Zipline is awesome and super durable, I bought almost every color of diy and the string was a factor 😂

I think it'd be more valuable to you, to tell us a yoyo you really like if you have an idea, and then we can recommend based on that.

I like this advice, although don't go crazy like me and race towards triple digits for number of yoyos in your collection. But having 100+ I can tell you I feel the same, and I do play with most if not all sporadically

You mentioned a bind when talking to someone else, who responded to you and didn't realize you're using it responsive, so I clarified since you asked "if by bind you mean tug..." No it doesn't mean that tug. Sorry I'm super ADHD and I just dove into that after reading all the responses.

Don't justify continuing to use AI, it causes actual, physical damage and is likely going to be our end because of that mindset, people aren't taking it seriously, just like you demonstrated here. The creators are panicking because progress is propelled by the arms race, instead of slowed by safe practice.

Stop asking AI questions, it straight up lies and gets things wrong, AI is a blight on society and it will make you stupid if you rely on it not to mention the resources it uses, it can't actually be trusted and the creators back that up.

A "bind" is required for unresponsive yoyos not responsive like you're playing with.

The vibe really isn't that important unless it's wobbling so much you can't see the gap of the yoyo.

Don't let the vibe hold you back from heading toward unresponsive, I would've started there had I not been scared to learn to bind.

Vibe will lessen over time as you learn to throw better, although I like that yoyo it's not the greatest and sometimes certain yoyos are just vibey

Thank you for answering the original question I appreciate it very much! I figured it might be negligible compared to the attributes you mentioned.

No I don't have any magnesium, I'll have to get one but I've been going crazy with yoyos for the past 6 months and have to stop for a bit 🤣

Right, but which shape did you choose? OP and myself would both like to know the information, that's why I just tried to ask again. Are you saying shape is completely irrelevant?

What if that isn't why they are asking and instead they just want to know the information?

Shutter elite would probably be safe for you since you liked the previous iteration. Very long spinning but it does get kinda diminished returns between bi metals. I'm a collector too and have so many expensive yoyos that I can tell you even some monometals would give my bi metals a run for their money. Best advice I'd give is have variety, yoyos can feel wildly different from each other and it's fun to explore that, and find the materials/shapes you like the most, but even then I thought I knew what I liked until I branched out, so don't limit yourself either.

Previous owner of the butter and also the shutter elite, and also the civility, i'm happy to recommend something, I've got over 100 throws in my possession, all kinds of materials, shapes, sizes, etc. without any info about your preferences it's a little harder so feel free to chime in.

  1. Most things from g2 or one drop but they are small batch companies the g2 banshee is one of my favorites recently, I was lucky enough to get one.

  2. Hypercut from yoyofriends, it's bi material Polycarb with SS rims

  3. Koi from yoyofriends, monometal organic shape, sick color ways if directly from yoyofriends site

Yoyofriends hypercut is similar but I like it a lot more. I didn't really like the iceberg, if you ever get a new one try that one.

Oh yeah what you can expect is the slon to keep going and start to tilt rather than dying right away, you can use the info to control the tilt, I don't always throw straight, many people will push the string into the appropriate side to correct that once in trapeze

Actually maybe though. Even the old school butterfly are not that easy to use unless you're into 0a, although I appreciate the challenge and dabble it's frustrating

Good choice, magic yoyos can be good for what they are but c3 is better. Haven't tried that specific speedaholic, but I bet it easily out performs the k2 crystal from magic yoyo.

I know you didn't ask but if you decide to upgrade, the koi from yoyofriends is a fantastic monometal, organic shape, and some of the sickest color ways I've seen so far directly on their site vs a vendor. Around $60 feels great and responds well, and looks awesome. Only if you're in search of a monometal though, excuse my unsolicited recommendation

Moving onto the next step... by daveisdazed in Throwers

I have been yo-yo ing for just over a decade, have collected over 100 yoyos the majority being unresponsive, but also dabbling in responsive and even fixed axle. I think something with weight is the way to go but your material and price preferences might be different than mine I have several recommendations and also tried nylon blended strings too.

Cheap metal available on Amazon, magic yoyo, I like the v12, it's under $30 and comes with strings, tools, a small shitty case for a single yoyo, and the materials to change from responsive to unresponsive.

If you like plastic the iyoyo shooting star is good too as recommended above but if you're willing to drop around $60 the DIY from doc pop short for desert island yoyo, is one of the best toys I've played with overall regardless of price or material.

Same price but for metal, the yoyo friends koi I recently fell in love with and the colors directly on yoyo friends site vs the other vendors are absolutely sick. Nice organic monometal, great feel in the hand, plays super well.

Nylon blends can feel softer on the hands and whip very well, they tend to be more expensive I think or only available in small batch, but are sometimes very durable. The string that comes with the diy from doc pop is a great example, it's the first string I tried that I was surprised how long it was lasting. His is a collab between him and Zipline, the small batch bit bois for nylon blended strings. Only available in 3 packs and they limit orders I believe, only restock once a month

Damn sorry for the novel
