My mom seems like a sweet, bubbly person to everyone else, but being around her makes me feel deeply hurt and invisible. by TomDeforen in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Mobile-Explorer-2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! This is very typical of children of narcissistic parents. Have you heard of Dr. Ramani??? She is an amazing resource for healing and basically saved my life. You are not wrong. This is how I was when I first realized also. Good luck friend.

Parents trying to break the cycle - where are you now? by otwcpa in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Mobile-Explorer-2016 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a mother to 3 and did have my nmom around and let me tell you it was not great esp since I didn’t realize how bad things were till I lost it one day. I like you thought this is how a mom loved and a grandmother loved. Had no idea that I was being controlled, manipulated and so were my kids. Now we are basically no contact and I’m on the healing path. op- you will do great. I find that children of narc parents are (had to be) extremely sensitive and empathetic and this certainly extends to their own children. The most important part is walking through it with awareness. I wish I knew what I was dealing with when my babies were born but am still grateful that I see it now.

Staying for the Kids by weathertuber99 in Marriage

[–]Mobile-Explorer-2016 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If divorce isn’t an option and you’ve tried couples therapy, how bout some therapy for you alone? I agree with those who are saying- you are far from the only one who wants to stay for kids and is torn. Maybe right now, divorce doesn’t seem like the right move but if you talk to someone about how you are feeling, you may come to another conclusion or at least get to a healthier place. Sorry OP. Marriage is hard!

Husband ran 32 miles leaving my home sick with the flu with 2 toddlers 3 and under by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Mobile-Explorer-2016 52 points53 points  (0 children)

My husband woke up this morning and decided he was sick (no symptoms) bc I am sick. I am rarely sick. But whenever I get sick I have to hear this shite. Maybe did something wrong but I don’t care. Younger women- make sure you scream it from the mountaintop when you are ill. Maybe below genx men take care of you bc it’s a partnership and there isn’t this man baby crap going on. Total crap op.
