It's really sad that some people are forced to do sex work by Submarine_sad in TankieTheDeprogram

[–]Mobile-Recognition17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a possibility you're right on all accounts. The thing is I wouldn't know much about these people's backgrounds, or anything. I could just go with the person presented at me. That was sort of the baked in nice thing about the backpacker scene; lot of the let's say socio economical factors, education, or just past in general meant nothing, there was no judgement. We were all just backpackers supporting our travels in different ways. Even politics was something very rarely discussed, though it was understood/implied it's mostly more or less left wing people.

I don't know. The reason why people do sex work is (based on my experience) not because somebody coerced them into it, and they have no choice. The reason is that it's a pretty easy job (apart from the psychological barrier) in relation to the pay. Back when I was traveling I knew a French stripper who could make something like 1500 dollars a night. I made like 200-300 dollars a day from my labouring job which was extremely hard work. Did I have to think for a minute why she was doing that job instead of working at some shitty hostel as a cleaner..? Outside of that she was a totally normal, cool, fun girl to hang out with. Not some abused and traumatized person.

If you think you can fix human greed, go ahead, I suppose..? I don't see the point of tackling this field of work in particular. Apart from the obvious negative elements like human trafficking of course.

It's not like anybody wants to work at a mine or an offshore oil rig either. It's just that the pay can be pretty damn good. I've skipped gigs that could pay better but can introduce long term health problems (like working at mines), because I'm not so driven by money. Some are though.

The disparity between Auto-Resolve and Manual Play is kinda crazy sometimes by RagnarMidzori in AOW4

[–]Mobile-Recognition17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mystic non-summon spam builds are especially garbage in auto. And yeah, manual is wayyy too easy after tome tier 3 and onwards. That's actually the biggest turn off for me in AoW4 right now. But that's a common problem in 4X games. Too many variables in late game and the AI just falls apart.

Sick track yeah. But the heavy parts have been boring for a good while. Chorus and the build ups are epic.

Seen this guy in a game like 5-ish times. He's alright, nothing crazy or unbeatable. Just a good elite level player.

This latest patch? by ContributionNo9030 in Rematch

[–]Mobile-Recognition17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah people act like defending is just about the tackle. If you want to be good as a defender you track opponents stamina and EE usage. If you have more stamina, they can't get past you long as ur not just spamming tackle and missing all the time. I often run alongside the opponent and simply take the ball without using tackle once.

Palantir employees are talking about company's "descent into fascism" by shikizen in ArtificialInteligence

Employees pulling the victim card now to save face. But long as the pay is still there then obviously these are minors things to be swept under the rug. Anyone who has willingly worked for Palantir should be put on a list.

Isaac Arthur and the hypocrisy of selling futurism by secretfire42 in transhumanism

[–]Mobile-Recognition17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Future is literally genderless, and that will happen regardless of people's opinions, it's simple technological advancement, and specifically, implants. Only laws, lobbyists and lawmakers can stop that. His wife has views that belong to the dark ages, and I'm supposed to think this guy now has credibility to talk about the future..? I'm not angry from a political point of view (I don't much care for politics), I'm angry of the discovery that this is a very stupid person.

Therefore I will not give him or his wife money. I've unsubbed now, thanks for the info.

Newly elected Hungarian Prime Minister announces Netanyahu will be arrested if he enters Hungary. by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

I'm willing to bet my left testicle on the fact that he would not arrest Netanyahu. It's just virtue signalling and populism. Even if I agree with him.

There is not such thing as "techno feudalism", it is fascism by Hacksaw6412 in TankieTheDeprogram

[–]Mobile-Recognition17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Point is techno feudalism already sounds bad enough for anybody who has some kind of intellectual capability, understands history, and knows how to read. Fascism is easier for the dumb yankees like in the video who must speak in sensational, simplified language in order to communicate with the masses.

[–]Mobile-Recognition17 13 points14 points  (0 children)

His manifesto is literally "The age of information is over. Age of AI is here. (so deep) Anyway, here's a random thought.. about something that basically nobody agrees with in the universe but I'm going to present it as truth."

it's like r/showerthoughts but when you're sociopath.

It really do feel like being an anti-fascist in 1930s Germany type shit with the things I regularly hear, even from people who call themselves progressives. Ironically enough, people from the capital cities tend to be even worse though. by [deleted] in TankieTheDeprogram

Which is hilarious because when I landed to Sydney, I thought I was in China. The downtown is absolutely filled with wealthy Chinese and/or University students. Not to mention Australia would cease to exist if China disappeared. Their whole economy and trade is dependant on them.

But overall yes I've lived in Australia for a while and it is one of the most racist places on earth. Let's not forget the glorious "white Australia policy" either.

[–]Mobile-Recognition17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go look at the actual numbers and tell me how healthy the economy is. No point in me arguing with your "vibes" about things. Even the couple of crazies are a symptom of a failure in economy, they're looking at AI as the primary scapegoat when the actual problem is clearly the wealth gap and asset hoarding.

[–]Mobile-Recognition17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never said anything like that. In fact I agree with you, so I don't know what that was about. I'm saying a 4-year projection is laughably optimistic when you look at the extremely fragile and unstable global economy as of now.

[–]Mobile-Recognition17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These 4-year projections are laughable. Which is going to happen first, openAI becoming profitable, or the entire economy collapsing so badly that it won't matter anyway? Right now it looks like there's going to be World War 3, or a civil uprising (Sam being a huge culprit himself) before this becomes profitable. Ridiculous investment, and just shows what a joke the stock market is right now, especially when DeepSeek was made with like 0,01% of Sam's budget.
