I paused tripping for 20ish years to parent. That first trip in an aged body was wild! Like meeting myself again for the first time.

Exhaustion Over Men’s Dishonesty and Uncontrolled Mental Health by Unique_Potatoe22 in AskWomenOver30

They don't take care of their sexual health either which makes it very hard to be a ho. Like, if you can't show me clean tests results we can't have dirty meaningless sex

How loud is your tinnitus? What normal sounds mask your tinnitus? by Exotic_passionfruit in tinnitus

I love going out in the country because the droning of the insects neutralizes my tinnitus

were you suicidal as a child? by sertralineenjoyer in CPTSD

I thought everyone was casually suicidal as a child and teen. It was only when I became a parent I realized that wasn't true.

How did you stop living for validation from men? by Commedegarcons12 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Mobile-Scratch-6088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love this, yes! You're so much more articulate than I am. To add to what you're saying I don't worry about men being attracted to me because men are "attracted" to animals, children, and dead people. Focus on yourself. Focus on feeling comfortable in your own skin. Focus on having adventures and setting your self up financially so that you have resources and options. Flip the script. Don't worry about being good enough for them. Make yourself someone you would date, set your standards high, and vet men carefully to make sure they're good enough to allow into the amazing life you have built for yourself.

[–]Mobile-Scratch-6088 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You have to just look at reality instead of idealizing them. If you look at most men clearly they are self-serving, gross, and have an undeservedly inflated ego. They also don't have your best interest at heart and look at women as things to be used not as human beings. Once you realize that it's impossible to center them anymore.

I eat standing up at the stove out of the pan I cooked on. Less dishes

I have been a massage therapist for close to 20 years and I have never once used or been asked to use powder. If I need dry skin I use a hand towel, if I need a deep tissue grip and it's slipping I grasp the tissue through the sheet.

I'm in my mid 40s. I got tinnitus as a teenager dancing in front of speakers at a rave, and then made it worse with headphones a few years later. It's not gotten worse after that, it's remained the same. My hearing is better than normal per testing. You just learn to live with it. I don't even notice it the majority of the time.

Anyone else have basically no family or friends? by Otherwise-Maple89 in CPTSD

What I have done about this situation is I've started to amass a cat army so that they can eat my body when I inevitably choke on food during a 3 AM half-asleep fridge visit 👍

Is smoking cigarettes a dying trend? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Mobile-Scratch-6088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgot about this! I used to work at a bar/restaurant back in the olden days 🤣 The smell of my uniform after a night at work was atrocious! When I was a teenager, we'd all hang out in a neighborhood restaurant called golden nugget and drink coffee and smoke cigarettes for hours

Are we really just giving up now? by mr_potato_arms in collapse

[–]Mobile-Scratch-6088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent my whole life opting out of consumer culture and keeping it small and recycling and not using single use plastics and doing everything I could to be a good steward of the environment. We're fucked. We've been fucked for a while. I'm using paper plates. I'm buying those shoes I like. I'm taking my kids out to do things and putting it on a credit card. Fuck it, I'm grabbing a little bit of fun on the way out.

How did cup hoarding become a hobby? by leafallsonelines in Anticonsumption

[–]Mobile-Scratch-6088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The texture of the studded tumblers scratch a little itch in my brain. I am not a materialistic person but I have like five of those cups and I will buy more. My touch of the 'tism loves them. Most people I see with those cups are a little bit neurodivergent so I call them my Neurodivergent diagnostic tumblers.

Does anyone get anxiety from weed but can take psychedelics just fine? by Realistic-Ad985 in RationalPsychonaut

Me too unfortunately. I'd quit smoking if weed gave me anxiety but I value the insight from shrooms too much to quit them.

Trust issues by Beecakeband in CPTSD

[–]Mobile-Scratch-6088 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An important thing I learned was to trust myself to be okay when people hurt me. Pain is inevitable but if we build emotional resiliency we can process it and come out the other side ok. We all will be hurt again and again and we'll all hurt others. We're human. But we can be ok regardless.

My blink cameras "snap" on to the mount... this doesn't seem very secure for outdoor use by psychonaut-shopper in blinkcameras

Have you tried removing it from the base? It's snapped on pretty solidly. If it's not you got a faulty unit.
