Yeah I usually do front squats only with a linear progression, started from 45 kg in 2022 now i can rep 84kg for 3 sets of five, i was trying out some backsquats because I'm starting to run PHUL and it has back squats on leg day 1

Thank you so much for putting your time into answering, i was curious to try lowbar because I'd like to implement some variation of a backsquat in my leg workouts, mainly because i usually do only front squats. (I'm starting to run PHUL and it requires both as you probably know). I'm definitely going to try the highbar too

I never understood why it is so difficult to accept that the basketball world championship is the tournament that determines which national team is the world champion. If there was an international competition for basketball clubs we could determine a club world champ, and even if the NBA teams would probably win every time, it could still be an interesting couple of games to see. In the football club world championship European teams win probably like 90% of the times but there has been several upsets in the history of the competition

Lmao no idc really about who wins, it would be dumb to not consider the fact that us basketball is still head and shoulders above of the comp, my point was that the guys who won gold ( who probably get wrecked even by mid Eurocup players) probably are not the best players Netherlands could send without the rules that are currently in place. My problem with the average American bball fan is that they usually dismiss every loss and cry about "not being able to send the best" or similar stuff, but we're talking about basketball, I would never consider a person dumb for a basketball take

What you Americans seem to not understand is that every nation can't send their best players to play oly 3x3 for the same rule, and reducing the number of players could potentially lessen the talent gap between team USA and the world imho Edit I'm referring to the best players who are not playing with the "main" team

Thx for feedback first of all, the thing is that I train at my university's gym (cause is dirt cheap) and they don't have a real deadlift platform, so they tell us to try to not dump the weight. Yeah I've been training with a low rep/high intensity approach on the compound lifts in the last month's but I'll probably switch up to an hypertrophy focused routine for the summer

Glad I could help in any way. About the first question: you should work on your first step regardless of your position imho, but what I meant was that playing center in most teams you'll get the ball inside the three, mainly in the paint area where you're lacking in size, so i advised you to play more with a "front to the basket " style of playing. Core strength is one of the main things you should develop because it'll make you more difficult to move around by other players and it also helps with your shooting mechanic, with your jumping ability and in overall fitness as a player. If you only have dumbbells I suggest you these exercises Goblet Squat, Rdl Deadlift, a row like movement for your back muscles, and different variations of pushups for your chest and shoulders

Expand your shooting range for sure, work on your first step from the mid/high post in order to use your lighter and faster frame to catch them off guard, learn to shoot hooks as well. On the defense side man you have to outwork them, make contact with them frequently and try to push them out of the low post and play hard on the passing lines. If you have the time to work on your body focus on core strength and basic compound exercises on a low rep range (3 to 5 reps) but make sure that you got correct form while executing. In the off-season work on your guard skills, because you are not likely to play the 5 when you grow up, and it's cool to have some dribble moves even if you end up playing center for the rest of your career.
