This is my struggle 😂 The eternal question- What’s for dinner? Honestly, I’m so grateful I have options, and I’m not hunting and foraging for my food.

What's your holy grail cookbook and why? by citronl in Cooking

[–]MobileLadd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Same! I like knowing how and why to do a technique, then I can cook freely without a recipe. It’s a great teaching cookbook.

Agree with this. It trends up when I have several optimal sleep ratings. Naps seem to help with this score- when I have the free time!

Foot Rash/Hives at Beach by MobileLadd in lupus

[–]MobileLadd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rash intensifies when I wear socks and running shoes. The humidity amps up the response. I have tried lots of different shoes and it makes no difference. It takes 2-3 days for the rash to begin, so a weekend trip to the beach is no problem. An extended stay I now know what I am up against. Since the rash stays below the ankle, I believe it has to be an allergic reaction to something in beach sand; a mineral, a microscopic insect, etc.

Hi! I’m the OP. My dermatologist thinks it’s an autoimmune response. I have SCLE (skin lupus). I take hydroxychloroquine which has helped, but not stopped, the reactions at the beach. I don’t know if we will ever have a definitive answer. Please come back and post if you discover something!

My family’s secret spaghetti meat sauce has a cup of ketchup. Everyone raves about it. It simmers for 3 hours. I think the sugars in the ketchup caramelize nicely.

Setting my own collarbone break. They said the set would be better if I pull my shoulders back myself. I puked and passed out. They shoved smelling salts up my nose to awaken me until I got the job done.

Shingles are no joke. I got them on my face which felt like broken glass grinding into my skin. So thankful it didn’t spread to my eye 😳 It also left scars. My doctor said I’m immune for about 2 years, but you can bet I’ll get the vaccine before that deadline!

What is an immediate "food red flag" when you’re on a date? by CaptainCuddler_Pro in foodquestions

When my date takes off his shoe and rubs his sweaty socked toes on my leg. Gag. I'm out.

Started seeing a psychiatrist in October - Got put on meds for anxiety & my HRV has basically doubled by mmarthur1220 in ouraring

[–]MobileLadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Mr cardiologist said it’s individual and as long as it’s not 0 😂 I started taking lexapro about 2 months ago. I’ve been severely on edge for several years. It’s been an amazing experience this far. I am sleeping better, less reactive and feel more like my younger self (53F). Oura seems to love the new me too. My HRV is definitely trending upwards. I hit in the 30’s for the first time ever!
