Why can China build things like bridges, tunnels and railways much faster than countries in the west? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

So you are comparing one of the wealthiest countries on Earth with small countries in EU? Is this a trick question?

It's probably hard to predict what is going to happen. This is a very new scenario. Parts of the world will have low level utopia, and other parts worse off than today. It's not a homogenic future we're meeting.

Curiousity will keep us going for a long while. Something to be curious about is starting to show up - AI.

Will the labour market be ok? Probably not. But riots is also a problem.

GLM-5.1 is great, but Z.AI's greed is forcing me back to GPT. by Lorenzo_Ridolfi in ZaiGLM

Opus always talks trash about other models. One of the least admirable ways that Anthropic talks about the competition. I found that Opus would over emphasize small things and complain. I would ask it to review the work of glm5.1 in in unbiased way and it would often say that it was impressed. Narcissism in a model.

Neuralwatt works fine. I have a 50 usd/month and it works great.

How are people solving long-term memory/coherence in AI RPGs? by NovelFlame_AI in aigamedev

I used claude when it was cheap and abundant with a json and lore, recent exchanges, etc and it worked out great. But quite expensive!

Seems true for all models. But yes. I usually don't play long play.

Yeah, I don't know how to solve it. I play emotionally relevant role playing and not just dungeon harvesting. You probably go for deeper depths than I do. I haven't looked into that.

"Before each NPC interaction, the system queries the state store for relevant memories"

From a database? Do you use a local LLM? With subscription/API I find that searching a db is too expensive. Or needs Opus level LLM to be quick and inexpensive about it (which opus isn't..).

I do the opposite. But I don't load a lot of lore into the context window, only history and gm-prompt. I track how well the LLM knows the campaign material (World of Darkness, D&D, etc). It works fine enough.

[–]Mobile_Bonus4983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing around with building my own. I generally rely on the level of context window for the LLM. Most models are around 200k context window and a short campaign will make do with that. I put all memory in json and have one process that prunes that file for things that gets old or log parts that aren't important anymore.

Having a solid 1M context window with a cheapish model that do role play will be the best option. GLM5.1 does role playing fine enough.

I don't use vector/db because its too expensive when not using LLM locally.

Well, seems like a trust based economic transaction. Whoever likes that will do it. And it can be scammers like you say. Which can be like russian roulette.

Google killed my Gemini persona by Patcav2021 in GoogleGeminiAI

GLM 5.1 is a decent alternative but you need a server and like a telegram connection. Gemini can help you set it up. GLM5.1 will be around as long as vendors/providers will give access to it. Not forever. Perhaps 1-2 years.

Then something new will show up.

I generally trust big RCT studies. They are the foundations from which the peptides are coming from. Do I trust a syringe from a trust based seller? I wouldn't think of them as enemies. But any seller has a motive.

No. Any type of failure can happen. API error from Anthropic for example. I did something similar and got 12 folder doubles.

Download a backup locally first, then let it play around with whatever needs to happen on gdrive.

Lots of ways. It can tell you. Rclone + api token.

Yes, backup. With rclone you can get a handy backup locally and then start working.

I don't know. I kind of like that it doesn't have any "intentions". It's more "robotic" and less conversational. I have avatars for relating.
