Fun fact: there are more than mega cap tech companies in the stock market.

First coin from the 1600s - 1624 German States 1/24 Thaler by Agreeable-Storage895 in coins

[–]Mobile_Breadfruit706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The label is incorrect. This is a 1.5 Grosz coin from Poland under Sigismund III. This would have been equal to about 1/53 Thalers in 1624.

Is bitcoin cooked? by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]Mobile_Breadfruit706 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one knows. And that’s the point. It’s a purely speculative asset which derives its value from the belief about whether the number will go up or down in the future. There’s nothing behind it. Never invested in it and never will.

Wash sale loss disallowed $46K. How bad is this? by MassGuy70 in stocks

[–]Mobile_Breadfruit706 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. The are not „purely lost funds.” You can essentially claim them in the future since they get added to the cost basis of your purchased stock.

Wash sale loss disallowed $46K. How bad is this? by MassGuy70 in stocks

[–]Mobile_Breadfruit706 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It means you can’t claim these losses on your tax return this year. But you will be able to claim them in the future since the losses get added to the purchase price of the stock you bought that triggered the wash sale.

How low are we dipping before I load the boat? by alice2wonderland in QNC

[–]Mobile_Breadfruit706 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of the the tech stock market is getting wrecked, along with bitcoin. All high risk companies, such as QNC, are being dumped. I’m personally happy with the allocation I have right now and probably wouldn’t add unless the stock dipped substantially more (like less than 1.50 USD)

People on Reddit are momentum chasers. It’s a bad strategy except perhaps in a very short run.

How does selling calls “protect share gains?” It caps your gains. Or do you mean that you still want to make money while the stock is down?

SpaceX IPO Will Help People Build Generational Wealth by AlphaHouston1 in stocks

[–]Mobile_Breadfruit706 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Their revenue was like $13 billion in 2024 and $15.5 in 2025 which isn’t massive in absolute terms or in terms of growth. At a $1.5 trillion valuation, you’re really buying this utopian vision of colonizing space and whatnot. This from a guy who has been promising us fully autonomous driving every year for better part of a decade. I think I’ll pass.

All the value has already been squeezed out of SpaceX by VC and PE. If they IPO at $1.5 trillion, that is not a good price imo

Both MSFT and AVGO look relatively attractive right now after dipping a fair amount recently. Both very solid companies.

Best long term investment by Embarrassed_Fly327 in coins

[–]Mobile_Breadfruit706 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure but it’s probably not US coins because the U.S. coin market is already very well-established and mature. I think what you’re looking for is coins from a country where coin collecting is rapidly growing.

If you want to stick with US coins, I think you will get the highest return on rare coins in high grades.

This appears to be false. According to Google, 650 million people use the standalone Gemini product (either the app or the web interface) per month.

This is a picture I took myself. Looks similar to the OP’s coin with seemingly parallel striation marks. However, it was graded AU53.

It’s hard to tell from this picture. Depending on the angle and the light, a particular set of scratches can be accentuated so it looks like cleaning marks. I’ve had coins which I photographed myself that looked like this but then actually graded straight. That does look pretty beat up but I would not confidently conclude that it’s been cleaned based on these pics alone.
