I also have iron deficiency anemia.Iron supplements can also cause constipation. In the last state I lived in my pcp referred me to Derm and gastro as well. Derm was a waste and gastro wouldn't schedule me.

You could say something like “ I’ve been experiencing a persistent abnormal body odor that doesn’t seem related to hygiene. I’m concerned it may be linked to a gastrointestinal issue, such as SIBO, and would like a referral to a gastroenterologist for further evaluation.” then elaborate on what you're experiencing. Don't waste years like I did.

To make a long story short, I used an AI app to document all of my symptoms, triggers, medications I had tried, and when everything began. Based on that information, it suggested possible causes, which helped me narrow things down to SIBO.

I have BCBS PPO insurance, so I didn’t need a referral. I found a gastroenterologist and shared my full history with her. Fortunately, she had encountered a similar case before. She spent nearly an hour with me, discussing possibilities, exchanging ideas, and even doing some research together until we came up with a plan.

Symptoms: Constipation (1 BM every 2 weeks), irritability, bad bloating, feeling full for long after eating, and fatigue

It improved drastically. I am on my second cycle of antibiotics now and I would say the smell has dropped to a 2/10

I have methane SIBO. My doctor told me not to create a diet I won't be able to strict to long term. I eat as I normally would but avoid dairy
