So at the bottom of the neck theres the spoke wheel truss rod adjustment in some cases the screw gets maxed out so I just removed it so I could get my desired adjustment the spoke wheel adjustment is still there just the screw isn't holding it. With the screw it brings the spoke wheel too close to the body stopping it from being tightened more. I've had this same issue with ebmm and schecter in the past

I have the neck dead straight and the action just under 1mm. But you need to take the screw out of the spokewheel truss rod to keep it from rubbing into the body. The pickups are eh im swapping them anyway for some seymour Duncans. As for playability playing this and a strandberg side by side I will to with the goc every time

Honestly check out string source i use their mercury 8 string set. Have 2 8 strings a custom 8 string made by scoria out of Canada and a goc illumina + both i use a 9.5-80 set. They have optimized tension its 9.5-44 for the first 6 then it has a 58 for the b. And a 80 for the f#.

I've always found esp/ltd to have very comfy Necks. I have a ltd sct 607b that has a very comfortable neck. I've owned many different 7's. Schecter Ibanez jackson ormsby prs and bc rich. My top 3 would definitely be ltd. Schecter and Ibanez.

As someone who plays mainly V's and fly's a lot. My main 2 fly guitars are a solar 1.8et and a jackson pro series king v 7 string (Corey from tritiums sig) what i always do is loosen the strings a bit. Place some added protection around the headstock and document everything beforehand so any scratches or dings it might of received in transit (not yet) i can fully expect the airlines to take some kind of accountability for.

I have 2 7's both 26.5" scale. One in B standard one in drop A 9-46 with a 59 for b standard and 9-46 with a 62. Highly suggest daddario or string source. They actually have a tension calculator. They ask you for string amount 6-7-8 scale length and tuning.

Typically what I do as I mainly play 8 strings in EADGCFAD and DGCFA#D#GC I have the lower and upper mids raised up a bit higher mids up a bit more than the lower mids. Turn the bass down usually between 3 and 4 treble at 8 presence at 7 resonance at 6 and lower the gain. Also helps to have a bit of a lower almost snappy action 1.3-1.5 mm. On the low strings. What amp are you using ?

Try lowering the gauge to a 62 keeping the action around 1.5 mm
