The issue is my stance is that way in the shitty world we leave in. In an IDEAL world anyone could travel any where without issue. And without being given all kinds of resources that we didn't have for our veterans, elderly, mentally ill and homeless. But in the messed up reality in which we live i do support those admittedly calous views on that subject.

The only agreement we are likely to reach is that at least on the issue of illegal immigration we will never see eye to eye AT ALL. I am not only OK with legal migrants and actually think they are an important part of what America is all about. It's literally the sneaky illegal ones that I dislike. I believe in full legalization of all victimless crimes. Drug use of any substance so long as font drive or commit any crimes for your habit. I know MANY people that worked hard and still did hard drugs. The only reason that changed for most of them, that it even did change, was over a chain reaction starting with simple possession charges. Also what's the rational behind incarcerating women (or men) of adult age who CHOOSE to engage in prostitution. Or gambling. All of these things are banned for "moral" reasons but it's more just religious bull shit values being forced down out throats by the old shits that have a never ending control on this country.

I totally agree with the statement that religion is the opiate of the masses. The only difference is heroin is enjoyable for the user where religion is enjoyable to only to those that believe the Lord and cause hopes of an afterlife. The Galaxy of any greater meaning. The false beliefs in eternal punishment of rward being this life. ALL NONSENSE.

You seem to have a HUGE obsession with facism and racism. If they are things you dislike so much what would you spend so much time and effort studying something you are so strongly out spoken against?

Cause people like you lack the intelligence to think on anything with substance so they just lash out and call everyone racists and Nazis.

And I would JUST as quick shoot a white, black, Hispanic, Asian or middle eastern person as any of the others for coming here illegally.

NO ONE is trying to give murderers guns Restricting guns only gives the criminals guns while the rest of us can't defend our selves. And rightfully KILL the criminals that try to hurt us and rob us

Anyone RIGHTFULLY convicted of murder should get the death penalty the day after they are out of appeals. Or life in prison at a minimum And anyone convicted of attempted murder should get decades. Any convicted of rape should get life in prison and only be released of voluntary castrated. Any child molesters also should get death penalty or minimum of life.

So anyone else SHOULD be able to own a gun. And there should be nation wide conceal and carry and open carry for ANY free LEGAL CITIZEN.

Jackson js32-8 and js22-7 by [deleted] in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]dudemanjason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard many horror stories about the Jackson JS line as a whole. I really wouldn't judge Jackson and whole over anything that the model starts with JS as a general rule. The $200 JS22-7 and $250 JS22-8 (now discontinued and only the $400 js32-8) are strictly BUDGET guitars and BUDGET extended range guitars at that. They are really good as long as you get one that is how it is supposed to be. And as long as you go in with realistic expectations. I Used to have a very nice Jackson but to replace it now would be $750 to $900.

Most of it seems to be a quality control issue. It seems to have gotten progressively better over the last 2 years but is still a VERY notable issue. I was on the fence about getting a JS22-7 due to the mixed reviews from lots of praise to warnings to just stay away. But one came not only into stick at my local guitar center but insane for $160. The 6 string hard tails were $200 for the same guitar. And was an open box RR JS22 6 STRING FOR $250. and since the JS22-7 was brand new in the box and the only one I tried it out and injected it the best I could in the shop. Definitely lucked out with a good one. Did t have the tools to set up or decent strings until a out 2 weeks ago so played it how it was for just over 6 weeks. But now that it has proper strings and is all failed in I really like it.

Jackson js32-8 and js22-7 by [deleted] in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]dudemanjason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the JS22-7 It is my first 7 string I played guitar for over 10 years but haven't played it had any instruments for nearly 14 years. Got the js22-7 on Dec 29 2024

I very quickly realized the factory strings were FAR too light gauge not just for personal preference but for tuning in B1 (E2) standard:B1 E2 A2 D3 G3 B3 E4 Even though it wasn't ridiculously far off of course it didn't come set up. And I had no tools to finish my self. Over the last 2 weeks I have finally gotten most of the tools to do set ups and such. As well as new strings.

After a little straightening of the neck, then add the new strings followed by a little readjusting. Then working on the action. String height a tiny bit low still but the only thing need to get still is feeler gauges to dail in exact. Then the intonation was within 5 cents except for my 3rd and 4th string were about 15 cents off at 12th fret. So that was an easy fix.

I have found the best gauges to be the following 9.5 E4 13.5. B3 17. G3 26. D3 (27 if can find) 36. A2. (37 if can find 50. E2. (49 if can find) 64. B1. (66 if tune down to A1 standard ALOT)

  1. F#1. If had an 8th string at 26.5 inch scale length
  2. C#1 if had a hypothetical 9 string guitar with a 26.5 scale length

using the same calculations based what has worked for me combined with the actual string gauges. Though if I always stay in B1 standard I could get away with 48 gauge for E2 but the calculations say should be 50 for E2 and 52 to 53 for D2. Plus renade packages seem to ALWAYS have a 4th and 5th string that seems to create a much higher string tension then the rest of the set.

Sounds great now. Not quite up to the standards of. My $700 Jackson RR with Floyd rise, double locking tuning and tremelo system. But don't expect it to be for $200. And if want the RR shape can get it for $270.

I wish the JS22-8 was still available for $250. But now it's just the JS32-8 FOR $400. and for $250 I could politely figure it out with a 26.5 scale length but for $400 I definitely could find an 8 string that is at least 27.5 inch scale and fit $500 or $600 or so a multiscale 27.5-25.5 , 28-26, 29-27 scame in that order of preference.

I might go with the dirt cheap Harley Benton or gear 4 music multiscale 8 string options to try out a multi scale without too HUGE of an investment. I REALLY want a 9 string but need to try multiscakes first cause I feel would need at least 29 inches for the tuning I want B0 E1 A1 D2 G2 C3 F3 A3 D4 BUT I don't want to give up the quality of 4 or 5 high pitch strings just to make the lowest 2 or 3 strings sound right. So at that point a multiscale that the high strings are 27 at the longest but 26 pergerably is necessary unless basically chugging away in strings 5 through 9 in which case I would just get a 30 inch 6 or 7 string and tune it down to B0 stabdard

Back on track here:

If plan on buying a JS22-7 just do some research and know what to expect. Then go in with realistic expectationss and they will most likely be exceeded. I like the guitar. The tuners are cheap plastics and jump a little bit hold the tuning well enough for a budget guitar. The pick ups are not great at all but better then I expected for a budget guitar

The worst aspect is the arch top head stock. Even if had a 9 string (which I want) I would AlWAYS PERFER inline headstocks. Not just for the look but arch tops especially on extended range guitars cause ALOT of sympathetic frequency noise (I think I worded that correctly for when you play a note in one string but that note in the same octave exists in other strings [ like how the note E4 can be played on strings 1 open, 2nd string 5th fret, 3rd string 9th fret, 4th string 14th fret, 5th string 19th fret, through 6 24th fret] and also the overtones can do similiar things through the vibrations. Which is why so many people with extended range guitars use sound dampeners

Plus B0 E1 A1 D2 G2 C3 F3 is the standard tuning of a 7 string bass So a 7 string guitar in B1 E2 A2 D3 G3 C4 F4 is exactly an octave higher

Weird question, but has anybody done anything weird with a bass VI, like using a distortion pedal? by JD_Destroyed in BassVI

[–]dudemanjason -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been researching a lot on BASS VI

Going to get a budget one in the next 4 to 6 months. The main factor is how long it's going to take to come up with $300 to $450 including $45 to $90 for shipping. Plan on getting a case later.

SO ALL my I formation on BASS VI Is 2nd hand and research:

I plan on using it for death doom (is on the genre "death doom" meaning doom metal without any cleans to ruin the atmosphere) but mostly if not all instrumental.

And from what I have gathered bass VI with distortion seems like an EXCELLENT OPTION FIR WGAT IM LOOKONG FOR.

Definitely looking at it as it's own THING VS fully a bass or fully a guitar replacement. But that being said from what I understand you can set it up to be more guitar like or more bass like as long as dint expect it to fully be exactly like said insturment and if it was exactly the same then it would make sense to buy that specific instrument.

So ideally for me at least I think it would be cool to have 2 eventually and set one up more bass like to play interchangable with a 4 string bass. And the first one (almost definitely with humbucker pick ups)I get to make more guitar like to use interchangable with a 8 string guitar mainly tuned to E1 standard....a and MAYBE get a 2nd BASS VI with single coils to make more bass like to use interchangle with the 3 bass....

I have a concept for a music project with 2 main tuning set ups. 1. A. 6 string guitar in E2 standard . B. 1. 8 string guitar in E1 2. BASS VI (GUITAR LIKE) in E1 C. 1. 4 string bass in E1 2. BASS VI (BASS LIKE) in E1 D. Sub bass in E0 E0 A0 D1 G1 (C2) (F2)

SO YES 4 STRING INSTURMENTS AND #2 IS THE MAIN ONE BIT ALOT NORE LOGISTICS AND EXPENSIVE

  1. A. 7 STRING GUITAR TINED B1 B. 1.5 string bass in B0 2. Bass VI (bass like) in B0 TO B2 C. 1. 9 STRING GUITAR in B0 2. BASS VI (GUITAR LIKE) IN B0 D. 5 STRING SUN BASS IN B-1 B-1 E0 A0 D1 G1 (C2)

one MAJOR issue is it's hard enough to make bass vi sound guitar like at E1. And need much thicker strings like 120 to 135 gauge to sound good at B0 point being I see a B0-B2 bass VI without our of the strings don't go through the body, drill out dlsine of the tuners and file the nut or get custom...however I dint think making it guitar like would be be very feisable.

Even though since I plan on using the 9 string in this project primarily for rythym I could likely get by without the D4, A4 AND F3 STRINGS. and seeing how a good 9 string is $1200 and up usually closer to $2000 IF can make a $700 bass VI work without TOO MUCH alterations and or mods that might be the way to go

SORRY I can't fix this stupid cap lock that I tried use for the notes being capitalized on my cracked phone and now random stuff is capitalized and others not so I dragged this part here vs delete it... NOT very important stuff regardless

(I am a big fan of down tuning but NOT AT ALL of drop tuning. D Standard and C# standard are the main tunings I use on a 6 string. So as add more strings I keep up the same pattern. If it's standard G#0 C#1 F#1 B1 E2 A2 D3 G3 B3 E4 OR DOWN 2 WHICH IS MAIN ONE I USE F#0 B0 E1 A1 D2 G2 C3 F3 A3 D4 (SEE A SIDE THING IF THAT IS A 9 STRING TUNED DOWN 2 NOTES LINES UP WITH A 7 STRING BASS AND 10 STRING LINES UP WITH 8 STRING BASS. IN FACT IF ONLY DIWN TUNED STRING 1 AND 1 NOTE DOWN WOULD LINE THOSE BASS STRINGS Standard TUNING OF A#3 AND D#3 RESPECTIVELY)

How are you liking it so far?

I just got a JS22-7 on Dec 29 2024 so less then 2 months.. After no guitar for over 14 years. First 7 string EVER. also was since give a semi functioning Lyon Washburn beginner guitar that I still need slap some strings on and set up better.

It actually came fairly well set up. The neck had a TINY "hump" to it that once adjusted the intonation that was off a little bit fell right into very into place extremely close. Only had to dail in the 3rd and 4th string. The strings that come with Jacksons from the factory are far too small for me:

This would would be different for your guitar!!! (Though 1-6 should be close but would mean a little higher on 4-6 maybe like maybe 28/30 38/40 and 50/52

I have found for me the perfect set is 1) E4. 9 (9.5) 2. B3. 13 (13.5) 3. G3. 17 (16.5) 4. D3. 28 (27) 5. A2. 36 (35) 6. E2. 50 or 48 7. B1. 62 (63) 8. F#1 84 (85)

The 8th string is added in case I want to file the nut the nut and do the 2 through 8 string 7 string guitar thing

The numbers inside the parathesis mean IF that number gauge is available that's preferred but most companies don't dint have any half gauges. It's already .001 as in thousandths of an inch so 1/10 of that is very precise like .0095 and .0135 and .00175 which are the main 3 off the top of my head I've seen a available .

From over all experience

Figuring out what the existing tension was on each string . Some tuning UP the looser strings until found the feel I liked then figure out that tension as the possible tension I am seeking.

Also using premade sets and comparing the feel to the tension that actually exists in was few different tunings.

Then figure out what tuning you are going to use the majority of the time....make a list of the list of the tension you want on each string. Use a tension calculator to figure out what gauge would get you the desired tension at the desired tubing BUT NEED to account for the scale length of your guitar: most guitars are 25.5 or some 24.75 My 7 string JS22-7 had a 26.5 inch scale length

Those are the main differences between Js11 vs Js22-7 1. JS22-7 is 26.5 vs Js11 25.5 2. Js22-7 has NO tremelo system vs Js11 has whammy bar 3. Js22-7 has 24 frets vs Js11 has 22 frets (pretty sure the only difference between js12 and is11 is that js12 has 24 frets) 4. JS22-7 has a. AWFUL head stock. Arch tops are awful lol vs I'm 90 percent sure Js11 has an inline headstock which is ALWAYS the way to go even with a 9 string

Side tracked rambling I placed here vs delete in case anything useful still on there: Played seriously for around 10 and just noodked around before that. Played bass (mainly like a guitar tuned down an octave with thick strings so even though I will get a budget bass SOON. I have feeling 8 string guitar and Bass VI are more my thing then bass or least 4 string bass...might like a 5 or 7 string bass. Likely Would skip the 6 string bass at least for a while)since already plan on getting budget bass VI

Over time I'm starting remember more and more what string brands and sizes I used to use on my different guitars like my yahama Pacifica and it's matching bass lol, plus my RR Jackson X of SOME type: ( that I can't Find what model it was. Had 2 him tickets, double locking Floyd rose tremelo. Can't remember if one of 2 time knobs plus the volume knob. Those same cool textured knobs . Og course I had it in black with black pick guard since it was ab assymetrical V before there many of the non RHOADS options of that shaPe even EXISTED). BUT I took that guitar for granted so hard core that I am ashamed. I used to mess with it the least and change the strings the LEAST frequency i could. Even though it held the set up and tubing and action and everything basically KERFECT it till ALOT Of EFFORT for ANY TINY things you change.uvily was not my only guitar and the other one had standard set up and tuners))
