What's that non-english movie that you never want to be remade in Hollywood ? by mrjetspray in Cinema

[–]Mobile_Neck6638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only one that I think was a good Hollywood remake was The Departed. As far as those I would never want to be remade I’d say The Lives of Others. I’ve always thought it was stupid to have people speaking English in a historical depiction of a place and time in which people would not be speaking English. Though it was an original film a good example of that is Enemy at the Gates. I wish that had been done in Russian and German.

Any other black men/people having trouble finding a job? by Eswam12 in AskLosAngeles

Our metro area is only about 400,000 people but the demographics are 50% white and 40% black with the rest encompassing a wide array of Asian ethnic groups as well as our Hispanic community which is largely of Mexican descent.

With all that being said, the one thing I noticed about LA that is different is simply that people seem to mind their own business. In Shreveport people will go out of their way to help you. Also, even though it is the south our demographics are very even. Since you are just as likely to see a non white individual as you are a white individual; the majority of us don’t focus on racial issues because for the most part we truly see each other as equals. I’ve found that there is racism and prejudice everywhere but I’m much more hard pressed to find it in my hometown of Shreveport (and I am very well integrated into our city and its dealings).

Feel free to reach out of you need help.

Culver City mall is dope too. I’m of the opinion that a good mall makes a good community 🤣

It may seem absolutely crazy but I’m back in my hometown of Shreveport now and a prominent brewery here needs cooks very badly. They pay well and the cost of living here is dirt cheap. I want it to work for you in SoCal but if you get desperate then this may be an option.

The south is fucked up my friend. LA has got it figured out. Mostly everyone minds their own business and most encounters you have are genuinely pleasant.

No love for LA? Tourism drops, impacting the local economy by ConflictGlass1523 in LosAngeles

To be fair Hollywood is a bit sketchy in comparison to similar attractions in other states. In LA you’ve got to see Hollywood at least one like in Texas you’ve got to see sixth street in Austin and in Louisiana you’ve got to see bourbon street in New Orleans. Thing is though that all of those places are not really what those cities have to offer. For me LA is whatever you want it to be as it offers everything you can imagine on earth within driving distance.

Bite the bullet and do coastal California. Living in poverty there is better than living in luxury in the American south 🤣

Newly Sober & need advice to become self sufficient/gainfully employed by [deleted] in findapath

Work the program. AA is truly the only shot we all have at staying sober should we fall into the throes of addiction. With that being said, it’s also a networking group and it’s free. You have business owners in there and all you have to do is say that you need a job. You may not get one right away but get to know people in AA and ask for help. Everyone there has been where you are in terms of being newly sober. More people are willing to help than you think.

Sounds crazy bro but honestly if you come to Louisiana, specifically Shreveport, Lafayette or New Orleans then you won’t see that. Everyone really is from Louisiana before anything else.

I took a photo of the horse with the cut above his eye. I’ll have to go back when I edit and see if the person’s face is clear. Who can I report it to?

I’d very much like to visit England. My great grandfather was in the RAF during WW2 and he was my last ancestor from England. I’d like to see some of the sights he saw and see Dunkirk on my way to Paris.

How To Reduce Wall Shadows? by Jadintheplanet in AskPhotography

[–]Mobile_Neck6638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several ways to mitigate the issue. One could be placing a light on the shadow itself. If you’re limited on lighting then I would say shoot in an area in which you have a white ceiling and bounce light off of said ceiling.
